We have a player core that will see their contracts expire in 2027 and 2028.
Prices drop with one year left on contract, if there will even been interested buyers. Awoniyi should be sold this window, I see little value in a new contract. 2027 Chris Wood - run down Matz Sels - extend Taiwo Awoniyi - sell But for 2028, who should have a contract renewal, who should be sold now for value and who should be kept? 2028 Ola Aina - sell Ibrahim Sangaré - extend Callum Hudson-Odoi - sell Ryan Yates - extend Morgan Gibbs-White - extend John Victor - sell Nicolás Domínguez - sell Eric da Silva Moreira - sell if no future

There’s been a few strong rumours that Sels will be going in the Summer

I would keep Taiwo for another year if he wants to stay, the cost of replacing him can be used elsewhere.

Taiwo should be kept yes, he is useful and you wont get a similar back up for double his sale value.
yes but we hardly played him until recently and as much as I love the bloke unless he was injured most of the season he is going to want guarantees and I suspect he still be down the pecking order somewhat. So if we can keep him great but if he wants to go then let him go and get a profit on him.
Reds73 hinted at looking at an expensive striker as wood and Taiwo could leave if not next season then definitely the season after. Also why is everyone down on CHO? Easily one our most talented players? Also I believe we wouldn't get much for him unless we sell him for nothing to Olympiakos to avoid giving Chelsea 50% and then buying him back or getting a loan. It is clear he has been struggling with injury a lot of the season. I think next year he will be back to his best. Just my two pennies worth. Chicago: Realist. |
