To clarify, Lucca couldn’t replace Awoniyi in the squad, he had to replace one of those who left during the window.

Hutchinson also had to come in, which everyone wanted, as did Ortega.

To have added Awoniyi, an existing squad member would have needed to have dropped out, and the original squad was decided under Nuno (I believe)?

I was prepared to give the lad a chance but he really was shite wasn’t he.

The thing with Lucca is that it was plain as day the lad was going to be a flop the minute he came in. While West Ham went out and got Castellanos, we loaned out Kali and ended up with that lump.

Kalimuendo axed from the squad and loaned out because the coach didn't like him and the then said coach replaces him with Lucca.

I won't mention his name as not to upset his fan club.

Same coach also includes an injured Savona and ignores Netz.

If we do ever get into Europe again, we need someone in charge of managing the squad as there have been some odd choices. Not trying to fill the gaps with the likes of Darlow for example. Not selecting Netz, Zinchenko (although that one got corrected due to Aina injury), and of course not selecting Hutchinson in the initial squad, despite him being the record signing.

Darlow and Cash (both rumoured to be available) felt like no brainers given the club trained rules. 

Recruitment was a mess, which i imagine will be the reflection on a season of turmoil that didnt need to be.
