Vitor Pereira - Our Manager

It's whether he is truly the man to take that one to build something long term.

Can we at least keep him on retainer in case it goes tits up again next year?!

I think it's too raw to decide right now, plus I'm annoyed at the selection of Mcatee and playing Cunha at RB (although it probably wouldn't have stopped us losing).

If we can land a Glasner/Iraola/Silva then we probably make the move otherwise we should have some stability. Just don't do what Wolves and gut the squad.

I personally think Vitor will leave at the end of the season and it will be a fresh start in the summer for everybody involved.

Who we attract is a completely different question and one we look forward to finding out the answer to.

In that scenario we all know what eventually happens and we are back to square one. Im not fussed as much who we have, just want some stability at this club for once.

Im not particularly excited about Silva but I think EM would allow him longer to build. Vitor has always been a short term firefighter of a manager. A very good one at that specific thing as we have seen but reckon thats his niche.

You think he will have us as high as 17th!?

However well Vitor has done he will have a lot of new faces in the summer. We could be fine equally we could be bottom 3. I don’t see us higher than mid table.
I don’t want yet another mid season sacking which I feel is more likely than not if we stick. Get EMs chosen candidate in and maybe we get through a season to build. Accepting EMs previous chosen candidate in Ange wasn’t exactly a roaring success.

None of those names are going to be prepared to come to us Wassy. The first two have already resigned because they think they can get a big club and Silva is probably thinking the same. And with EM's track record with managers this season, none of these established and highly thought of names will be prepared to come I suggest. A Pereira type is probably the best we can get so lets just stick with the Pereira we already have I say.

Marinakis will play the field and it's gonna be a large one this summer. There will be some top class Head Coaches/ Managers who slip through the net of the "big" clubs and need a project. If we wanna kick on we need to do what Villa did with Emery.

Seem to say it every summer but this one is massive; there's gonna be an even bigger rebuild needed than last year. It's likely that our entire spine will need rebuilding; Anderson gone for sure, Murillo likely, MGW possibly and we also badly need to find the next Chris Wood too, he's not getting any younger. How we spend that money will dictate the next 5-10 years of this club, if not more, get it badly wrong and we're back to the Championship, get it right and we can establish ourselves as European contenders.

Pereira has done his job very well and can hold his head high, but I think he probably needed that trophy to keep the job for next season.

Yeah that was kind of my point, I don't really see the point of getting another version of Pereira if we can't land a bigger fish.

Hold your horses chaps, we still do not know what division we will be playing in next season, after all we are Forest and we always have a shock waiting around the corner last nights 4-0 SF loss for example (who predicted that!). Lets get over the line Sunday afternoon and then start to speculate!

42 points?

I get the Yeovils and Stokes of this world but surely not.

Vitor currently is equal with Stuart Pearce for win percentage in the Premier League of all Forest managers........ but is top as lost less games.

And some on here want to terminate him ? and replace with a potentially worse manager ?

Im not sure anyone wants to terminate him, I just think most feel he will not be in charge next year for whatever reason, he just does not stay long at clubs. It has been great under him in my view and if that momentum could continue in to next season then fantastic.

My gut feeling is he will leave.

Terminate is a strong word.

Be more of an amicable parting of the ways.

I think that is what will happen.
