I think it’s safe to say Murillo and Dyche didnt see eye to eye.
When Murillo told Dyche he couldn’t play against Leeds, i dont think Dyche believed him as he was sent straight for a scan, which did show a minor injury

No surprise there.........Dyche wants defenders to hoof it up front........he certainly would have not liked Murillo.

Hopefully with Vitor we might be able to get another season at the City Ground from Murillo and only sell Anderson in the summer for 100 million.

Cos they’ve been flogged by Dyche for 4 months.
What  you forget JG is most of these lads are seasoned pro’s, they have played under different coaches at different clubs, so know when things aren’t right.

1) heavy loaded sessions 48 hrs before a game, when in a loaded campaign. That’s not normal. Normally the last heavy session would be MD-3

2) There was no prep on either attacking or defending set pieces

3) players didn’t understand how they were supposed to press teams

4) his treatment of some players really pissed a lot of the others off.

There is a lot more, but I’ll leave it there

Im not having a go at you directly R73, please don’t take it personally but looking at what you have said logically it just doesn’t add up. I know you and some others on here haven’t wanted Dyche since day 1 and thats fine. Im not defending him either because although I was initially enthusiastic, my eyes aren’t lying too me, performances have been poor, tactics and game management poor to terrible of late.

However your accusations above. If Dyche was as terrible as you are saying he just wouldn’t have lasted in the game as long as he has. For the most part he is a successful premier league manager.
Players talk to each other amongst different clubs. Coaching and fitness talk to each other, club directors talk to each other. If he was that bad it would be widely known.

For a start Chris Wood Im sure would have said his piece, he is widely respected amongst the playing staff, it is well known we have a leadership group in the squad who have the ear of the owner and Wood is in that. Therefore how on earth would Dyche have got the job if he truly is as clueless as you make out.

No prep on defending set pieces. Why has it improved then? If we can get back to our strongest team is back to last years standard. Not sure what you mean on the pressing really. Attacking set pieces we have been awful at since year dot.

The players don't like to run? Aww diddums, bless their little hearts.

Some are pissed off. That’s usually the case when some aren’t in the team, happens at all clubs. Those that aren’t have done very little to stake their claims. I do accept Wednesday night was crying out for McAtee.

Again Im not defending Dyche, just think there is more to it and at some point our expensive and highly paid squad have got to step up. Lets see if they perform for Pereira or if they decide to trot out another load of excuses.
I should finish by saying I will of course apologise if it is clear that performances improve under Vitor, for all our sakes I do hope that they do.

I would say to number 3. Surely seasoned pros know how to press

How you would press changes game to game.
There are various triggers, depending on opposition, where their perceived weaknesses are.

Nuno was a master at this, preparing his team meticulously

The players lost confidence in the staff at the end

On the pressing point there's also a 'masterclass' series in which managers explain their tactics. I've seen the Dyche one and can see exactly how he set us up in the games against better sides. He didnt get sacked for those games. His limitations are not in the defending, as Salv said, set pieces were massively improved from the Ange period.

Just keep us up vitor, get us scoring and playing better, thats all we can ask

His limitations are not in the defending - picking a defence might be. Anyway onwards and upwards lets hope players give us 110% now till the finish line and we land softly. Although in my head we go down and Derby come up.

God, is he going to start running them a la Dyche and O'Neil?

Anybody take relegation but winning the Europa and in the Champiuonship next year but also in the CL? Would this mean extra revenue plus most of the players will want to stay with the added bonus that we walk the divison next season, all quite possible?

Fresh starts for everyone.  That will probably mean CHO will finally get time to recover and mcatee and Bakwa get a fresh chance. Cunha to finally be put ahead of morato. Its all very exciting.

Wonder if we stick with 4 2 3 1 or go 3 4 3.
