I am Tom from the Daily Mail (no i'm not) and claim the prize for the most obvious football story of the week! If Dyche is to lose his job then there many (still uknown) young up and coming mangers out there, just look at Middlesbrough and the new guy that took over from Rob Edwards a few months back, incredible record and now top of the Championship. Just hope the guys at the top table in our club go down this path be it this week or the wend of the season. I want a manager at Forest that is coverted by most PL clubs not an unemployed has been! No Silva's and similar, new face and new ideas please.

Not being funny but any of us could write that though and we’re not journos. I mean I’m sure there were folk on here suggesting his position was at risk 2 or 3 days ago. Some of these journos are stealing a living
Yeah true ha.. but if the clubs leaking it then it must coming if he carrys on. Hes clearly wont be here in the summer regardless if we stay up or go down. Probably explains his tactics of late.we have had managers before do stupid stuff when they are close to the sack, like daft line ups etc
I think, but just my view, that part pf the issue and reason why he is using the tactics he is, is down to the fact that it is so tight at the moment. Almost like a reluctance to let the shackles off. It could of course be that, like others have suggested, he’a a dinosaur of a manager and has no other way of playing but many a manager, when in needs to win situations have gone defensive. Maybe, if/had we managed to get the pts on board to be safe then we’d see a different style - probably not but can wonder what if.

You might want a coveted manager but it doesn't mean that coveted managers would want the job right now.

Really!
I seem to recall that there was no big list of managers wanting the job when Ange was fired, and the ones on that list were not particularly inspiring - Roberto Mancini ffs.
Trying to employ an out of work manager mid season is a difficult job, trying to get a manager who is in work at another club is nigh on impossible - the big clubs struggle to hire mid season and we are not a big club.
Whether it is an up and coming manager or a manager fully exposed to the rigours of the PL they all know how difficult it is taking on a struggling team part way through a season, and no manager, regardless of pedigree, wants a relegation on their CV.
We also have a huge perception issue at the moment; fire Dyche and we will be on our 4th manager this season, trying to sell that to the right candidate is going to be impossible.

JCK this is all hypothetical as Dyche is still the manager and may remain untill the seasons end. Most on here seem to want a change regardless if we stay up or are relegated. My point and as an example I gave the recent situation at Middlesbrough and the mid-season change and how that has effected the Champiuonship race. The guy who came in was a complete unknown to most of us but look at the results since the change. We never seem to spread our search for potential managers and always seem to go for the obvious has beens or out of work, I think the team manager is the most important appointment any club can make yet we always rush. With regard to you last point, I think most potential coaches would jump at the chance of working in the PL and not be currently based in the UK

There was a time earlier on under Dyche, particularly when Hutchinson was playing when we were more open and free. Then we started losing games and Dom comes in. Naturally he does well against City and Arsenal but he hasnt quite had the boldness to then switch Hutchinson back in against lower teams. It will be interesting to see what he does tomorrow.
On Cornish point, i can only see one motive for leaking that story to Tom would be to let the fanbase they hear their frustrations, our board do seem to be quite 'online' and reactive to such.
Theres no other reason i can see, im fairly certain it wont have bypassed the management and players how vital Wednesdays game is. I'd like to hope it hasnt bypassed the fans on the night as the team has reverted to the relegation threatened and fans need to also get themselves back in the fight for survival groove.

The Middlesbrough example is a good point, but I am not sure if a Club in our position would take a gamble of that magnitude.
Yes, it is working up there, but how many time does it fail?
The pressure will be on to get a top coach/manager as the next appointment, and no one will be pressing for that more than EM

Sabri was our last risk, and if we backed him properly in that jan window he probably would of got us up. Players ran through walls for him,
But we bottled it and signed Da Costa

As I have repeatedly said I want Dyche to stay and genuinely think he is our best hope of survival, pretty or not.
However…in the summer if not before…..
De Zerbi is available.

Further to the above maybe think about it before Tottenham sack Frank?
Thought number 2, Im going off on a series of what ifs now….we could actually do a lot worse than Frank although he is one I feel needs time to build a identity.
