These 7 points could be gone in a flash. I'm not feeling comfortable at all.

Yep, these away draws are great but now can we convert a few wins from the home games and establish ourselves in midtable before we have a hard run of games.

Also the gap could widen further to 12 points.

That we need some home wins is clear. However from the way we have been playing away from home Im not worried. We are properly competing in games now, not just hanging on and hoping to pinch a goal, its a world of difference.

Yep, the difference is palpable when compared to the first two seasons.  The football, despite still being based on a low block approach, is so effective. Sophisticated even. In games I'm almost having to pinch myself at just how good we are now. It's hugely encouraging. My problem though is I'm finding I'm just waiting for it all to collapse, and normal service being resumed. Yesterday I just couldn't connect emotionally with the game early on as I had convinced myself that the inevitable goal against was just around the corner.

Solid defensively, organised, and enough of a goal threat

We have turned the oven on now.

Massive win with regards to our home form. The players hopefully will have more confidence against West Ham now and the fans have had something to be positive about.

We need to move away from the sing when we're winning culture but I think ironically we needed something from the team at home. But let's face it, fans do sing more when winning.

I still put it down to unrealistic expectations last season and we expect to walk every home game.

Bump.

Just 3 league wins at home all season so far.

What happened to the CIty Ground fortress?

Probably partly due to last season. Teams are coming and letting us have the ball and we're not good enough at breaking them down.

It disappeared at the back end of last season.
How many of those final games at home did we lose?
4 out of 5 ? Can’t remember.
But I remember thinking if we carry that home form into next season, with the extra Euro games, we’d be in trouble.
And that’s before all the manager shenanigans and injuries to take into account.

Lost to Brentford, Everton, Chelsea and there might have been another. Then of course failed to beat Leicester.

Yet the backs to the wall vs 10 man palace it probably helped. There's a transition in the fanbase from us having to fight for survival and believing we're now an established PL team where wins are expected. I think thats fairly normal.
