Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany
Anyone who actually goes to games will see what Jesus has done and how he plays. He is a useful player and has a thankless task. I don’t buy into that we haven’t missed wood though. One reason our crosses are being seen as shite is wood makes them look good- wood has elite movement in the box and is a huge presence - often taking up two defenders. Jesus does his best work outside the box and we are not in tune to where he wants it.

I think it's cruel that people are on his back.

I can't get my head around it at all.

His performance against Man City was the best CF performance seen at the CG for years.

Of course he would like more PL goals but is it his fault?

Is he missing a shed load of chances every match?

He is so isolated and the team create nothing for him.

Often leaving him alone battling against 3 defenders.

Agreed. I watch him live and he works hard while not getting much support. It's clear though that he doesn't have that instinct/quality that good prem strikers have. That might be for reasons that Sal highlighted and also it isn't normal for a player in that position to not have any chances out of a fairly big sample size. that isn't all on the people behind him.

Regarding the EM comments - I believe if you go back to my two questions that is what i'm getting at. And it's not just you Sniff as we can see from the responses. There are two recruitment camps where I blame EM for most things (including our relationship with Botafogo. The other camp don't.

Lol sorry mate. I just think he is the player that isn't at it when we have everyone available.

I don't know much about Woan and what he offers tactics wise.

I am interested in Reds73 opinion on this.

Reds73 does Woan offer anything tactics wise or is it a case of the old pals act?

That information came from interviews where they explained that Woan does the sitting down with the lads going through tactics. Thats his thing.

Woan does team meeting 48 hrs before the game, where he articulates the in possession game plan.
He also does the set pierces.

Does he do it well though?

Is he held in high regard and well respected?

I think certain players would like it, and certain players won’t.
Guess that is the same with any coach.
They are certainly playing for them, there is no local of effort.
I think if you asked Anderson and MGW if they loved the football they were asked to play, then I would doubt it.
Let’s be honest, the tactics are very basic in possession.
Get the ball to Calum and Omari and make sure you get loads of crosses in.

I really want Sean to do well but I have to admit the tactics in possession appear awful.

Tactics do seem ropey but I did hear today that we are top 5 now for defence since Dyche took over (that's XGC ie goals that should be conceded based on the chances given away). Not sure how that relates to actual goals conceded or goals conceded from set pieces though.

Feels like they have sorted the defence out broadly, if only we could keep Dyche's ability to sort a defence with a more attacking mind when in possession like in NFL when you have attacking and defensive coaches.
