There's no denying that there's been a drop off but we all watched last year's team with Chris Wood struggle to break down Everton and the worst teams in recent PL history. I think thats more down to how this team is built that particular tactics. I maintain that Chris Wood's absence has been the most sorely felt this season.

I find the hysteria (mainly on X) around the recent run baffling to be honest. I'm comfortable with Dyche as the English Nuno, I see alot of similar criticism from the season Nuno took over being repeated with Dyche. I accept however, i dont see Dyche getting us top 10 in the PL and given that where our owner wants to be, it perhaps will signal the decision come May.

That said, at the end of that 23/24 season when we finished 17th, 6 points ahead of Luton, who saw Nuno getting us top 10?

Our main problem is we don't have a goal scorer available

I agree in a way but disagree in another way.

In my opinion our Striker is too isolated and feeding off scraps.

How many chances was Jesus presented with yesterday?

A goal scorer can only score if he is given chances to score.

Thought Taiwo looked more effective that Gyokeres yesterday let alone Igor.

An interesting part of a scouting report on Ndoye from a few years ago:

Shooting
Of the 8 goals he has scored 3 left footed, 4 right footed, 1 header. 2 from left channel, 3 from right channel, 3 central. 1 within 6 yard box, 2 from outside penalty area, 5 within penalty area.
He likes to shoot from distance when in wide positions, for his national team as a striker he is more disciplined with shooting locations with more chances in central areas closer to goal. He is an excellent long-range shooter though with powerful shots towards the corners.

Yes I thought I heard it said last night that he’s played as striker at times for his national team. Worth a try. Who knows, our recruitment team may have already found that new striker and he’s been here since the summer

I accept that we aren't creating a lot of chances right now but Jesus is our weak link at the moment. He isn't a premier league striker and if he played for any other club in the world other than Botafogo we would have had zero interest in signing him.

He isn’t our weak link but he isn’t a natural predatory CF and in my opinion needs someone alongside him. Accept he does look very isolated how we currently set up and he isn’t physical enough to do it by himself.

I think that is a bit unfair Tom but we all have our own opinions.

Agree Sniff. Jesus was excellent in the club world cup for Botofogo in the summer. I watched a couple of their games to see him. People have probably forgotten that he played in that summer tournament. The lad is probably absolutely shattered.
