Finally listened to Dyche's match reaction and have to agree with everything sadly. He likened the first half to a testimonial. The players in the first half were a disgrace for me. They get paid upwards of 50k a week and they've been given a platform to perform and they play like that.

We were one good Sels save away from going in at half time 3-0 down. 3 f-ing nil to a middling championship side. Dyche had every reason to rip into them.

Asking poor McAtee to play CM alongside Luiz and having 3 wingers behind Jesus meaning we just went longball ?♂️

The players aren’t performing and God knows they are paid enough- Players fault
The players are badly coached and the tactics were wrong - Dyches fault The players are rubbish and couldn’t do it if they tried - Edu’s fault Dyche shouldnt even be here, nor should Edu - Marinakis’s fault All of the above?

Are we all getting a bit carried away?
Perhaps we should wind our necks in a bit and I include myself in that. Are things really as bad as we are making out? It's not as if we are cut adrift at the bottom of the league and out of the Europa League. Nor do we have a squad of 32, 34 and 36 year olds with no resale value. Have we all been overreacting a bit? I still think last season wasn't meant to happen and it spoilt us.

Agree Sniffer. Thats obviously the glass half full view. Because of last season many are going to glass half empty and in so doing they are looking to blame someone. Achieving last season will be very difficult in any world and its rarely as simple as one factor when we don’t do it.
There is no reason why we still can’t have a reasonably successful season, who knows it may yet be a brilliant one.

I think the biggest issue is the level of performance drop off that's raised concern and rightly so too. It has been huge. Having spent shed loads the performances are reminiscent of the first year back up in the league in recent weeks, should we expect more than that after the investments made? I think so. At the same time the key word is balance, its the third manager of the season all with different styles of play and expectations of the players. Brains will be frazzled and probably mentally a little tired never mind physically with the additional games this year. Got to get through to the summer and re-evaluate, making decisions at that point, unless we get dragged back in to a fight. Part of the adverse reaction over the past four/five games stems from a changing belief of looking up to looking over our shoulder, and the former was always naive. I personally keep coming back to what was Sean’s remit when he was appointed. Was it to finish mid-table? I don’t think so given the mess that we were in at the time, I suspect it was: 1. Avoid relegation 2. Go as deep in the Europa League as possible and I guess there was an expectation to reach the Semi’s (given our points tally when he was appointed) 3. Have a good FA Cup run Our PPG has been decent since Sean took the reins and should we continue on that trajectory we should be safe. Yes the quality of performances has dipped but that’s not enough to shit the bed right now provided we continue to pick up points and maintain a gap on 18th. We can’t ask much more of Sean from what he’s achieved in the Europa and it was only MGWs penalty miss that is the difference to us likely having to avoid a playoff game. The FA Cup has been a shit show but if you read the match thread prior to kick off Sean did what a large majority of the posters on here wanted despite it being obvious as to how it would play out. This is my biggest disappointment with him so far because despite there being a decent break until we play Arsenal I suspect that it won’t massively change the result for us.
