I think that is a bit optimistic Ozzy.

Chris Wood in the form he showed last season would have put away one of those half chances last night IMO and we would all be happy with a slightly undeserved draw or win. Thats basically what happened in so many games last year and is the difference now.
Problem is if and when Chris does return will he ever be in the same form again.

Our lack of finishing without Wood is pretty worrying. Jesus has a good all round game but didn't threaten with two decent half chances. Make you wonder how Kalimuendo can't get on ahead of Taiwo as he has shown he can finish (alrhough not much else so far).

We really need more.goals from the midfield too, Anderson, MGW, CHO, Hutchinson.

Was also disappointing not to see Bakwa get on last night. Need to get some of this young attacking talent going if we're going to improve this year.

So why is Kalimuendo not being used? Is he being saved from injury for a January move that is lined up?

Controversial post this one...

Do we leave Chris Wood out of our 25 man squad to be named soon?

18 league games left (I think) and if he misses the next 8-10 games is there a case to leave him out?

This is assuming that we sign 2 or 3 new players in the January window.

From the little we know Im guessing the op was an attempt to sort out a niggling problem and wasn’t major in which case he should be back in weeks rather than months. Still realistically talking end of Feb at best you would think before up to speed.
20 games left, I would sooner have Wood for just 10 games than Taiwo for all 20 myself.

If we can get Wood available for half or more of our games (with better squad support than last year) then absolutely. He's our top premier league scorer and knows the gaffers system and current team mates.

I won't change my mind until there's reason to. We need a goalscoring option up front. So far this season it isn't Jesus and it isn't Taiwo.

Jesus had a great game yesterday and provided a composed assist before I get pelters he is doing well and maybe he'll kick into goalscoring form later in the season or next season as he adapts.

If Wood isn't going to be fit we need to go to the market. We probably need to go to the market anyway if Kal isn't going to get a chance because it's time to move Taiwo on.

If you look back at when Taiwo was out main striker scoring goals Chris Wood scored some very important goals off the bench. 20/25 minute cameos he could be really key for us.

What does Dyche have against Kalimuendo? How can he not get on the pitch ahead of Taiwo, its absolutely baffling. Surely he must be off in January

What Dyche?

Dyche just hinted that he sees all the players in training and knows where they're all at. Suggests to me that Kali is not doing it.
