I can’t fault his ambition or his commitment, but I sometimes wonder if he is guilty of a flying a bit too close too the sun at times.
I do feel for him though because I also suspect he has been let down by certain people.
Maybe he took his eye off the ball a little?

Not at all, although in some cases we’re talking the fine margins of success.
And there is no getting away from the fact that if our season ends as badly as it could, then relatively speaking this failure will be almost as bad surely? Given the position of strength we started in ?

Sniffer I am NOT advocating going back to those times but it would be good for all to progress at a sustainable speed to enable us to truly estabish the club at the topend of the PL season after season with some European football along the way. We seem to be going from low's to high's and back again, I know football does not always work out that way but it's worth a shot, dont you agree?

What you want is sustainable building like “well run” clubs like Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton. In theory I would prefer that too but I will reply on behalf of Sniffer with a case for the defence:
Brentford highest ever league position 9th
Bournemouth highest ever league position 9th
Brighton highest ever league position 6th - gained in their 6th PL season
Forest highest league position 7th gained in our 3rd season.
Unfortunately guys you've signed up for the roller coaster with EM , just have to embrace it Im afraid.

What is this prefer long term sustainability rubbish? Sounds like woke nonsense to me. You capitalize on a position of strength. You don’t waste time, and an excellent side because you haven’t built a new stand yet! You want to qualify for Europe then not invest? What do people want done differently?!

What do we want differently? Well not being on your 3rd manager of the season after 9 games would be better.
But I think youre missing the point, I was saying thats not what we do and also thats not necessarily the right thing to do either.

Yeah the coach situation screwed us, but that wasn’t a planning thing, I assume we planned for him to be coach still, but we had to scramble after his childish displays and made a bad decision on Ange.
But in general life isn’t set, and progress doesn’t happen in a straight line, you have to make things happen and when opportunities arise you have to take them. The owner gets this. Good to hear you agree too :)

I'm hoping Dyche can stuck into MGW's game this next fortnight now he's not going away with England. I think the penny's dropped with Morgan that he needs to add goals to his game to improve and to be fair to him he has managed to do that. Let's hope this is the start of a resurgence.

He had a busy summer mentally, England, Newborn, Spurs transfer.
I think its a blessing the England chatter going to be honest. In all fairness, England are blessed with some top top 10s of which he's probably 4th on the list at best.

Business time coming up, this is the part of the where our investment in depth will be both crucial and also should give us a competitive advantage over our relegation rivals. These teams haven't been pushed to play many midweek games whereas we are fully in the swing of it so can hopefully take advantage.
So predictions/hopes:
Liverpool (A) - Close loss
Malmo (H) - Comfortable win with a rotated squad
Brighton (H) - Narrow win
Wolves (A) - Win (hope they've got a manager by the end of int break so we don't get the dreaded bounce)
Everton (A) - 0-0
Utrecht (A) - Win
Midweek break
Spurs (H) - Narrow win
Fulham (A) - Loss (we always lose there)
Man City (H) - Loss
Everton (H) - Win
Villa (A) - Loss
West Ham (A) - Win
That's all games up until a break for the FA Cup, we only have one midweek without a game between now and West Ham away, start of January. Need a good run of injury luck and hopefully can get Wood, CHO, Luiz, Bakwa and maybe even Aina back on the field (pending whether he goes AFCON).
Feels like there's plenty of good opportunities to get wins there, some more winnable away games and then home games against top half teams. We've got tough away trips to Bournemouth, Arsenal, Newcastle, Palace out of the way, teams that are either just really good or traditionally very strong at home and top half teams.

So we finally get a midweek off next week while other sides play in the League Cup, but they push our fixture back to the following Monday!
Really annoying that, I liked a trip to Fulham but not going to be able to make that one now.
More confident for these fixtures if we get the injured players back though.
