Current Players Thread
I dont recall saying that Sniffer but please correct me if wrong! I did and have commented in a few posts over the past for a streamlined recuitment team with a medium to long term plan for the playing staff, I think most posters would agree on that.

Never had an issue with the appointment of Edu, thought that was a coup by EM and showed real progression by the club, while on the subject do you have any info regards a replacement for RW role in the management team?

Someone said yesterday that Ferreira had took Wilson's job.

Good news if correct, well respected but so was RW, big shoes to fill.

I have for a long time thought that Morato is basically a Portuguese Joe Worrall, the odd decent game but always prone to a brain fart or 3 and one that invariably costs us the game. Paired with Milenkovic we have no pace in central defence either and were pulled apart on a few occasions today.

However Im not one for the knee jerk response “anyone must be better”

Jair Cunha - involved pre season but Is there a good reason he hasn’t played? Remember Nuno &Ange didn’t pick him either. For whatever reason I have a feeling he is now behind Abbott in the pecking order.

Abbott- still not played a senior game in his preferred position of CB.

Boly, played vs Swansea and looked ropey as anything. Think he is done as a player.

So who plays? Or do we need a new CB in January who is capable of starting?

Nathan Joyes tweeted this evening:

“ I haven’t watched Forest this season, but baffled Jair Cunha isn’t getting minutes. Someone save him please because he’s going to be elite.”

Really SR? I know we are all Forest supporters on this forum but I think he has been so/so at best!

I want to see both Cunha and McAtee given a run in the team.

They deserve a chance to show what they can do because the players currently occupying their positions are not performing.

Agreed. If Murillo is out any longer, I’d be happy to see Abbott given a proper go too.

Really hope McAtee takes his next chance.

And I really hope Bakwa is playing soon so we can see what he can do. Really disappointed in Ndoye and CHO this season.

Other than yesterday when absolutely everyone was poor, when has MGW performed badly enough to justify playing McAtee instead?

I'd say about 75% of the season.

Not sure what others think?

Exactly this, when its going well he plays well, when there's a bit of a struggle where you need him to drive it, he goes a bit missing or over complicates it.

Dyche likes a consistent 11 and that is fair enough if that first 11 are performing. The warning signs were there to be seen on Wednesday, for example Omari looked gassed around the 75th minute and wasn't tracking back as much, not his fault btw as his fitness levels probably aren't quite there. Ultimately there are other players on the bench who have been signed to cover for when players don't perform consistently, have knocks, are flagging etc. If they aren't match fit enough then they have to be given some time to play their way into fitness.

Radio Nottingham kept going on about not having squad options but that's just not true, there were three players on the bench yesterday that could have started the match and freshened it up (those subs at half time could've started), plus another two options who aren't being picked other than in Europe or in the case of Cunha, given any minutes.

Now if I know we don't see what happens in training, but there is nothing you can say that will convince me that Ndoye being so badly out of form doesn't mean he needs some time on the bench, if Morgan has a back injury that needs managing, then at 2-0 down in the 60th you could sub in McAtee for minutes. If hitting long balls up to Igor isn't working bring Kali on for a change in style..

I just didn't get yesterday at all, what was the plan? Knocking long balls up to 1 striker up against two centre backs who love that sort of game? And why when it was obviously not working didn't the plan get a change? Around the 75th minute it was as if they just wanted to get off the pitch and go home.
