My issue is that, beyond the odd spell like in the first half against Betis, we haven't seen much evidence of improvement. And worse than that the defence has now regressed to as bad as it was when Nuno first took over.

At the moment it's hard to know where the next win will come from. At least under Nuno we had a clear identity. The football might not have been exhilarating but it was (for most of last season anyway) effective. Under Ange right now it's neither. Such a diametric change in playing style means the appointment should've been done at the end of last season - not partway into this one.

Or... Taken into account Nuno's position became untenable, you recruit a coach of similar ilk, or at the very least not diametrically opposite

That's a major part of this whole business. Ange is doing what Ange does but it was obvious to most fans that such a massive change in approach was going to be a step too far, mid season, with no time to work on things. As much as we're criticising Ange, that's as much EM's problem as it is Ange.

Its Nuno's fault as well.

He threw the West Ham game and gifted them a win and made it such that there was no choice but to sack him.

If you want to apportion blame......its on Nuno's head.

How did Nuno throw the West Ham game? I've seen this said a few times, it's not like he played the academy.

Ange played the same team in the next game too, apart from Aina being out.

And others including senior players if we want to have it out in the open.

Do you think the players enjoyed those tactics at the end of last season?

They didn't.

There needed to be an evolution in tactics, that’s clear from results at the end of last season. No need to try to pin the blame on one person.

However the key word was evolution, rather than wholesale change. We do seem to have thrown the baby out with the bath water.

Surely everyone agree that maintaining the same level of football from last year was unsustainable? So change of some form was unavoidable?

We were found out last season by the end. Zero issue with changing style, issue is the coach who is doing it. The guy is hopeless and needs to go, just look at the way we set up for corners, he is an error repeater that will take us down

Aye Wood must have hated scoring all those goals, Elanga having best season. This is nonsense (in my opinion).

We absolutely needed to be able to mix things up, and having different options was the right move.

But I wonder if there’s a single player enjoying the tactics now.

He said “at the end of last season”?

Ange given 4 days off to go to Australia to do talks at a coaching convention, clearly not getting the sack, and given 4 days off by his pal EM

The article you have quoted states Ange joined for one session virtually. Therefore he is still in Nottingham and has never left.

Again seems like you are inventing stuff to suit your agenda.
