It's because Marinakis sat next to Benitez at the Arsenal - Olympiakos match.
Benitez was there working as a UEFA observer.

If the options are Rafa and Southgate, I'd prefer Ange.
Rafa would be the worst option, his managerial career has been over for a long time. His recent roles have all gone terribly and was sacked pretty quickly. Southgate and Marinakis doesn't seem like an obvious match...
