Lewis Grabban
I’ll overlook his penalty miss as it was a commanding centre forward display that you will see at this level. Dominated their back line and his marker in particular. His penalty record apart from here is pretty good. Agree they need to take him off them though. It was a dodgy pen anyway.

Not sure who i fancy to take them in the future.

Lolley for me.

Grabban dividing opinion.

This is going to sound controversial but I think we shouild sell him before 5PM on Thursday on the condition that we sign a quality alternative. He is just not doing it in my eyes.

I am not even convinced that he suits the way Lamouchi wants to play either.

Not as easy as that though SD. We'd no way recoup the £6m we paid for him, and he's now a year older. I imagine he's on good wages too. He didn't get much service at all on Saturday. When he gets service he scores goals. You may be right about him not fitting into Lamouchi's style, but if that were the case we should've been talking about doing this weeks ago, not after the season has started.

I'd keep him, he will score goals as long as he is given the service, and I really cannot see the club getting in a decent replacement for him.

I'd be wanting to keep him but I've got to say he's the most un-natural finisher of a 20 goal-a-year striker I think I can remember. With time to think about getting a shot away, he's a poor finisher, as an example his pens are poor. And I never fancy him outright when he's put through on goal and has a keeper to beat.

But he can score bags of goals as we've seen. And IMO his ability to hold the ball up and play as a lone striker is underestimated. AK got him really looking good in that regard. O'Neil didn't, and Lamouchi didn't on Saturday.

Nope, me neither. And if we bought the same player this summer rather than last I reckon we'd have to have paid £12m for him. So letting him go would be silly unless the club is ready to write a massive cheque for a replacement.

He has only ever scored 20 league goals in a season once in his career and that was 6 years ago.

I reckon we overpaid for him sadly. Not moaning, just stating a fact.

He got 20 the year before last - 12 for Sunderland, 8 for Villa.

You know what I meant, 20 for one team.

13 clubs in 14 years and only scored 20 league goals in a season for one of those clubs.

I agree. Grabban doesn’t have pace to capitalise on a hopeful through ball or over the top. He is poor in the air. He gets outmuscled. He doesn’t want to defend from the front. His attitude is questionable and it seems clear he won’t accept being sub or being subbed. So better off selling now while we can recoup a decent chunk of his fee.

Get someone with more pace and presence. Easier said than done, but if we can, then we should make the trade.
