Looking at the video of Awoniyi in the ice bath couldn't help but notice that Sangare looks leaner and fitter than last season. It'd be a massive bonus if the two of them could smash it this season.

Whoa - Matz Sels is one of the nominees for the Lev Yashin trophy at the Ballon D'or!

I don't think anyone had THAT on their bingo card when we signed him.

It's not just French reporters who decide the winner:

"Firstly, journalists from France Football and fellow French publication L'Equipe work together to produce a combined list of 30 official nominees, based on players' performances in the previous season. This initial selection process sometimes also includes a small number of former players.

Then, one football journalist from each of the top 100 Fifa-ranked nations is invited to cast votes for their top 10 players in order from that shortlist. The 10 players are awarded 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 point based on ranking.

Once all journalists have submitted their top 10s, points are tallied and the winner of the Ballon d'Or is the player who accrued the most points in the voting, while the rest are ranked from second to 30th."

Ah. Fair enough.

You're probably right mind you. But even being in the top 10 is an incredible achievement for Matz.

I'm actually slightly disappointed that Chris Wood wasn't in the main Ballon D'or nominations long-list.

:Funny:

Nice article about Murillo in The Athletic today. Seems to have taken to life in Nottingham and in the Premier League incredibly well - so much so it's easy to forget how young and relatively inexperienced he is.

We're lucky to have unearthed him.

Article on BBC website with reference to 21 wild cards, break out players in premier league and 2 play for us, Ndoye and Cunha. Good to see.

So for all you Kalimuendo fan boys out there, is he a proper CF? Ie should I be taking Chris Wood out of my FPL team?!

Or is there a world they can both play, obviously we might change tactics anyway but seems like we're gonna have a lot of players to fit in!
