This is getting silly now.
Either way, everyone involved should at least know what competition they’ll be in next season.
I think that's what UEFA is waiting for. If Lyon lose their appeal it'll be easy for UEFA to let Palace into the Europa. If not then they have a decision to make.

Martyn Ziegler who is a very good journo on this type of thing, has said if Lyon win their appeal to stay in Ligue 1, then Palace will drop to Conference League

I think the longer this drags on the more likely we are to be in Europa League.

Don't know how that would work because don't forget, there's another director at Palace that owns Bronby, who also have qualified for the Conference L.

Apparantly Brondby would lose their place

In the Guardian article, they said there was nothing in the rules to say what would happen in this scenario which is partly why they don't want to have to deal with it.
Got to presume Brondby would kick up a fuss if this happened too (well unless their joint owner just decided to accept the ruling and maybe sell a player to Palace!)

Hmm - another club has been kicked out due to multi-ownership rules. This makes me think we'll definitely appeal if Palace are allowed to keep their place, regardless of what happens with Lyon.
In the meantime, it has been confirmed Slovakian club DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda have been expelled from the Conference League. They join League of Ireland side Drogheda United in being booted out of Europe due to falling foul of the same multi-club ownership rules Palace are at risk of breaching.
Dunajska Streda have the same owner as Hungarian team Gyori ETO. Drogheda are owned by Trivela Group, which also has a majority interest in Danish qualifiers Silkeborg. Drogheda had appealed against their expulsion from the Conference League, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the original decision.
A statement from UEFA said: “Following the assessment of the documentation submitted by the clubs, the CFCB First Chamber concluded that Gyori ETO FC and FC DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda breached, at the relevant assessment date (1 March 2025), the multi-club ownership rule foreseen in Art 5.01 of the UEFA club competition regulations.

Delayed it. Again
The statement from UEFA suggests if Lyon get relegation overturned then Palace will get kicked out but if Lyon get relegation confirmed then Palace play in Europa.
That makes sense with the delay, the principle stands its just a question of who gets the boot - the lowest ranked team needs to be confirmed.

As much as they're being criticised, aren't UEFA here just trying to give Palace as much of an opportunity as they can to enter the Europa League?
If Lyon don't qualify, because they've been relegated, then the problem goes away and Palace are in the clear as the question of multi club ownership isn't there any more. The whole issue about them/him missing the deadline is a mute point, a none entity as there isn't a conflict between two clubs in the competition.
Palace can slag UEFA off but in my view they're trying to find ways not to ban them.

Just my opinion but I think this is simple now.
If Lyon win their appeal and overturn their relegation then we are in the EL.
