He'd be a great signing IMO, regardless of character. That said not sure I see him giving up all that Saudi cash to come and play for Forest.

Has he got a bad reputation for that kind of behaviour? As far as I can tell he was always well liked at Brentford then after getting banned for gambling, took the money from Saudi. No suggestion he was necessarily a bad egg in that regard though?

I have no idea but a while back I watched his interview with Stephen Bartlett and was amazed by the guy's arrogance and lack of contrition with regard to his gambling ban. I just made my mind up about him after watching that.

He was caught on video in Dubai saying “F&*k Brentford” in 2022. It was cut so out of context he said. Was vocal in wanting to move to a big club, he disrespected his current one. Even as it stood by him during the gambling ban he was vocal when he was back he wanted off to a big club. So basically give him what he wants or he’s trouble.

Yep, forgot about that. I'd say 99.9% of the top players have a deep respect for the club that gave them their shot. He needs to be a little more humble.

Wharton should be in the squad but at his age he also needs to play tournament football which he will do instead this summer. Hopefully our u21's can win it again. So I actually agree with the decision this time around. I'd hope he will be in come September.

Disagree with this, he won’t learn anything with the U21s now but the difference in quality training with the seniors would be massive.
