Blimey! Really sad to hear that it's so serious.
Best of wishes to the big man! Really hope he makes a very quick recovery! He seems a seriously top human on top of it all, he doesn't deserve the poor luck with injuries that he's had.

Must have some sort of internal bleeding. I've seen first hand recently how quickly an impact injury can turn without knowing and it's scary.
All the best T

Update on Taiwo's condition in The Guardian:
Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to be brought out of an induced coma on Wednesday after urgent surgery on a serious abdominal injury sustained in Sunday’s match against Leicester.
The Nigeria striker was injured after colliding with a post during the 2-2 draw at the City Ground, after which the Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, stormed on to the pitch.
Forest anticipate Awoniyi will make a full recovery, though it remains unclear when he will be discharged from hospital. He underwent surgery on Monday. It was a medical decision to place Awoniyi into an induced coma to stabilise his condition and for the 27-year-old’s own comfort.

Anyone else find these media reports of the ins and outs of Taiwo's issues a little uncomfortbale?
Do we need to know what he's ruptured and that he's in a coma? Isnt the lad allowed some privacy over his health issues?

I kind of agree. Any updates should be from Forest and not the media. How do they get the information in the first place

I mean that’s what the media do, report the news.
Paul Taylor used to get heavily criticised for just being a mouthpiece and not actually asking any questions

Surely during the conversation between the Physio and Taiwo the latter said he would be okay to continue though?

Apportioning blame is not the deal here. Big T health is. There are two main points here - and obvious injury like this should be treated like concussion with an extra sub and immediate medical assessment and a rewrite of the protocol. In pressure situations harm can be caused by the desire to win at all costs. Also the non flagging needs to be looked at for obvious offsides.

The guy attending T was not the physio.
It was the club doctor who is a senior trauma and orthopaedic registrar , who has previously held very senior roles as National team doctor for the FA, chief medical officer at the NFL academy.
This was a hugely experienced medic, who would have gone through all of the procedures.

Spoke to my physio Daughter about this today and she told me that the physios are there to deal with situations on the pitch as best they can. As she pointed out, T may well have said he was ok to carry on and that message wouldve been relayed to Nuno. T may have felt well enough to continue at that point, as his adrenalin wouldve been high and he wouldnt have felt the total pain immediately so couldve felt he could run the discomfort off.
She also pointed out that the Physio and Doctor could not have known the severity of his injury without the use of an MRI scan and feels the blaming of the medical staff attending to T is totally harsh and unfair.
She also told me that in her experience, a Physio can only offer advice about a player and their injury, regardless of its nature and their advise doesnt necessarily have to be taken notice of by either the player or the manager. I think the only time this differs is for head trauma injuries where concussion is apparent.
