Tonight was a blow but I still think we've done enough for seventh so as long as Palace don't win the FA Cup we'd still be good for the Europa League.

Even if we lose to Palace, which feels strongly possible, top 5 is still in our hands. Two of the four worst teams in the league after, then winner takes all against the FFP swervers. Forest never, ever do it the easy way.

All context isn't it? Give me any form of European football back in August and a trip to Wembley and you think what an amazing season. Now it feels a massive disappointment (although I would get over it)

Really? After two seasons of 16th and 17th you won't be happy if we finish 6th or at worst 7th? 

I realise that expectations change because of where we've been for most of the season but sorry, I just don't get that at all. 

It would be an incredible turnaround to jump 10 or 11 places in the space of a season without changing the manager or making major changes to the squad.

Yes, a completely rational argument. But the fact is we've been pretty much in 3rd place for half the season and a few weeks ago the Opta people had us at 80 odd % to make champions league. If we end up in the europa conference then that's a complete fail. No other way to describe it.

Sadly I'm with you there. Especially as it's 2 home losses to Everton and Brentford that have made it so much more difficult now. 

Still.....3 wins gets us there i still believe, maybe less. We can still do it! 

If we don't make it, I think a lot of the conversation will be about lack of activity in January.

Oh I'll be disappointed if we end up in the Conference I admit that. But not if we end up in the Europa League.

As for the Opta stuff - as they love to say in American sport "That's why they play the matches." Nobody can predict what will happen.
