Wouldn't change anything, as long as Newcastle finished in the top 5. Basically in that scenario Chelsea are legit in the EL via the league. If Palace don't win the FA Cup then it likely means there's two league spots for EL too. If Chelsea finished 7th there would be an extra EL spot I think in that scenario and no conference league team. If 8th, then there would be an extra EL team but it doesn't push it down the league spots.

One fact that is unlikely but not impossible, if Villa finished 5th and won the CL, they would qualify and then the extra CL spot would go to 6th.

Apparently, that is applied after everything.

Most like scenario is:

1-5 CL (plus one of Utd or Spurs perhaps)
6-7 EL
8 Conference League

So five more wins guarantees European football

How about we stick this thread in the freezer for a few weeks eh?

Im guilty of thinking about it too but there was always a nagging feeling we could get bitten on the backside.

Totally agree. Folk were getting ahead of themselves.

The thing is you can feel it with the atmosphere and everything and have done a while. I really don't like it.

Until the last few months, the A Block and Bridgford always used to chant and it's Nottingham Forest FC before kick off,
and the whole ground would do it just after the game started. We hardly sing it anymore. The promotion season and the Cooper survival season the entire ground would sing Forest are magic on and off the pitch and that seems to have fizzled out except the Trent End every now and again.

We've replaced our powerful atmosphere with mardi gras songs about Nuno, the Champions League and Wembley. Like we are playing the last game of the season with nothing to play for.

Totally agree. Mistake to 15th and build was always my prediction. Over the moon with anything above 10th

Nope that is not happening.

I don't remember us stopping talking about relegation last season.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

Agreed, think we probably need to pay attention to Fulham v Bournemouth again now. Fulham could close the gap to 6 points!

EL/EC is definitely not locked up yet either. Although hopefully we only need a couple more wins for that.

What a game that was Man Utd - Lyon.

Absolutely superb stuff.

I am no fan of United but I take my hat off to them for serving that up last night.

It was great viewing no matter who you support.

What Harry Maguire has been through with online abuse with from people who have probably never attended a football game was a disgrace.

He deserves to enjoy these moments he is a sound guy.

Still hope they lose in the semis though.

Obviously not great that Man City won but in terms of European qualification both Bournemouth and Brighton didn't. Fulham playing Chelsea tomorrow so one or both of them drops points. Yes Champions League is what we all want but our chances of making Europa League got better today.
