And the clubs & agents will know we need them desperately so unless they're out of contract, we'll get screwed over on the fee and wages.
Haha, you don't think he'd come to his boyhood team, to represent them in the champions league and pick up a cushy cheque in the process, without actually having to play much?!
He's not played much for years, doubt he'd start in PL for anyone right now. He's the perfect squad fodder type player, not expected to play loads but seems to be well liked and brings experience if required.

There was a discussion about this on the Transfer Thread a few weeks back.
Karl Darlow is an obvious one as back up keeper.

He's been at Newcastle now longer than he's been here. He probably thinks more about them than us, especially as he was club captain. If I were him I'd be looking to play rather than take the cash every week and sit on my arse. He's probably a pretty wealthy guy now anyway.

I'm less convinced that's the mindset most players take in their 30s.

Not wanting to jinx it, but our U21s are winning in extra time of the semi final of the premier league international cup. Against Ath Bilbao.
That must be pretty good!

Our lad must have some potential then. Is he still only a loan though? Thought we had longer term plans?

Option to buy I think.
One of the frustrating things with the modern game. Get him on the bench! Full of confidence wanting to prove a point. Give the lad 10 minutes.

Doubt we will sign him, Fletcher was performing better, 7 goals in 14 starts and a few assists. We are not paying the 1m purchase deal for him, he's gone back to D.C

Yep agree - not sure he is impressing enough for us to pay that.
Some way off first team level
