Seems to me Foden was raised to do tippy passes, but England don’t play like that. Tedious sideways passes maybe but not the higher intensity linking up and carving out an opportunity passing around the box that Man City did when they were in their prime. They had a number of players that could link up and complement each other like Silva, the other Silva, De Bruyne etc in their peak. Hard to do without critical mass of top players to complement.

Someone who was at the match has posted saying he thinks lower back muscle rather than dead leg. Says they sprayed Wood with Deep Heat or whatever but he couldn't run it off.

Regardless well done to him because NZ have just qualified for the finals, that should be a highlight of his career, will spur him on to have a good season next year hopefully.
