Our Best Ever Striker

Wood is unbelievable. Seeing the analysis on sky tonight and he has the best conversion rate of any striker in premier league history (based on since they had data).

It's a no brainer.. he has been incredible

I wonder how many votes Wood would get if he was included in the poll.

He is perhaps not as dynamic and exciting to watch as collymore was and I would probably still say collymore in his prime was probably the most all round striker we have had...

But for longevity, professionalism, attitude and perseverance, Wood is simply class. I think his overall premier league stats for finishing are phenomenal considering he has always got goals despite not playing in the types of teams that create that many chances

I agree with that mate.

I also think that because of his playing style and because he don't rely on pace in any way shape or form he can go on for a few more years yet.

I saved up quite a lot of pocket money to have Collymore on the back of my yellow first away kit a couple of weeks before he was sold to Liverpool so I'm going with Wood.

Wood was playing at a high prolific standard before the rest of the team (way before) and would have won player of the year last year if he had a fancy foreign surname.

Baring in mind I was born in 87 id also like to give a shout out to Pierre Van Hooijdonk who scored a ridiculous amount of world class goals. Not top flight but as good as we saw for many years.

Some of those PVH free kicks were outrageous.

IFS and buts of course but had things been different he'd have been on this poll, for sure
