Secondly, we are 3rd and whilst the performance was rubbish, some of the online over-reaction is frankly ludicrous. Digging out individuals questioning their commitment and if heads have been turned is something I'd expect from Scousers on the back of one and a half poor games. I totally get the emotional side of it for those of you who travelled and have that sh1tty journey home, but for rest of us I have one word: perspective.

We win as a team and we lose as a team. We have a fantastic manager who will look at how we get back to winning ways ASAP. A fantastic owner who will back our continued progression.

Before anyone shoots me down with the "constructive criticism" card, read some of the comments again.

For me having not missed a game until yesterday the last 5 months have been right up there with some of the great seasons  of yesteryear so as far as I'm concerned (and it may be just me) the lads can have a free pass as I am confident they will regroup and go again. If not, then I'll get behind them and probably let loose with constructive criticism on here.

My lucky trainers snd jumper will also be back in the equation...

So what you're saying is..... it's completely your fault!?

Lol

Pretty much yes.  My superstitions are going to be next level now!!

Suspect some of the overreaction is simply because we are attracting a lot of newer fans now and in particular younger ones. Fantastic because we need them.
Only problem is with that comes 14 year olds going on social media and slagging off the team as a form of teenage angst because they can’t get a girlfriend. We can live with that.

Did anyone else think Ando, MGW and Aina looked leggy ? We were 2nd to everything , Christie ,Adams and Kluivert didn’t give our CM a minute .

I still can't get my head around the fact that nobody moved towards towards Kluivert when he opened the scoring.

I was and still am gobsmacked.

Easy to forget how young Anderson is and hasn't played a full season yet. We managed his minutes early season it's perhaps time to rotate midfield/fullbacks/wingers to maintain energy levels. We have massively overachieved and now it's probably overwhelming. We are safe and we are still 3rd for now but our squad is still midtable on paper and we would all have took that day 1 of the season. Need a good reaction from WFCG crowd next week too lift the players but maybe exclude the champions league songs without intending that to sound negative.

Stole from twitter but it made me laugh

If you think this is bad, wait until they beat us in the Champions League final next year.

Anderson took a whack on the top of his foot first half was surprised it was Yates not him changed from dom

This season is another huge learning curve for everyone like I said during the match MGW can’t be doing flicks off the outside of his boot when we’re under the cosh it’s about bring more precise holding onto the ball. There was a lot of panic yesterday.

I can’t believe how utterly angry I was yesterday.
It wasn’t because I blamed the team per se, it was the knowledge that the ‘told you so’ brigade would be out in force. I still haven’t watched MOTD, I can’t bring myself to do it.
It was also because of the sense that we are starting to stumble and the pack- with deeper squads and experience- are reeling us in.

It’s not fair for us to suddenly expect European football; but it’s our right to hope for it given where we are. And as they say, it’s the hope that gets you…

AC Vodka makes a good point about our young players. They are tired. Some are playing with injuries.
It’s starting to take its toll on them and our squad is probably not quite there yet.
That’s why I think the others will overtake us unless EM and the team pull out a couple of worldies this window.

I have a week to recover some optimism- and I will- but I just want my teenage son to experience what I did back at the start of the eighties.

Apologies again for having a mardy last night

Just one point, our players shouldn’t be tired as in fatigued from a long season. We have no European football, went out of the league cup after one match and played one FA cup match. We haven’t played a lot of football.

Yeah and that FA Cup match was a completely different team.

Hopefully not the case, but the lack of possession must mean a lot of running, hopefully we've not pushed them too far.

I guess this is where we really need the squad to step up if players need a few weeks off to regain optimum fitness levels.

Last time I saw stats on distance covered we weren’t one of the top ones. I just googled and couldn’t find the stats, but I did find this tweet from 10 days ago:

Bournemouth's physical metric ranks in the Premier League this season:

Distance covered per 90: 1st ?
High-speed run count: 1st ?
Average speed: 1st ?
Sprint count: 2nd ?
