Murillo will sign his deal in the coming days..

I thought this year was the option. He signed a 1 year deal with an option to extend by an additional year.
I thought that too. Am sure that's the case.
I've now seen this from Rob Dorset
: “When it comes to Ola Aina, they’re not only negotiating when it comes to an improved contract but they will automatically trigger a one-year extension that they have in the club’s favour at the end of this season.

Also Wood close to signing a new deal, along with Aina.

I'm not sure Dorsett has that right. We triggered the year extension in May 2024 (here: https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/...extension/)
Would seem odd that there'd be *another* option for a year's extension.

I think there are no extensions and we need to
Sign him to a new deal. I would be happy with three years. Wood is trickier as he is getting old but maybe two years at less wages and possible coaching role?
Dunno. Seems like a top bloke though and a good influence to have in the dressing room. Neco and CHO next would be optimal.

That would take up the last squad place. Outgoings required for incoming.

Only if he is registered with the squad which he doesn’t need to be unless Sels or Carlos get injured.

I didn't know you could do that. Is it just for goalkeepers.

Article about Aina in The Athletic today and it's also saying that there's an option to trigger another year's extension in his contract. I thought it was Sky just getting it wrong. This is what it says:
"There is a clause in his deal that will see it extended to the end of the 2025-26 season, which will be activated if he reaches a certain number of appearances — a mark he is very close to already."

Would assume he is after a better deal regardless and of course I hope we will give it him. He is 28 now so this is his big opportunity for a payday.
