Our Goalkeepers
He's still low down in keeper advanced stats. Fwiw, previous years our keepers have been rated around the relegated sides so this checks out.

Kelleher is higher up...

Thats kind of what Im getting at too. If we want gradually evolve the team into one that can compete consistently at the top end then GK is one of the first positions I would look at. That isnt slagging Sels off before someone jumps on me.
Changing GK midseason when we are performing well would be madness though.

Sels will be 33 in a few weeks so we know he is not the future but he is a good solid PL keeper who has been good this season for us so far.

I am pleased for him.

Is it too late to bring Brice back? Or is that not an upgrade now?

I think Sels deserves the shirt and it is his to lose no matter what.

It will also be interesting to see Miguel, I suppose he will play against Luton in the cup.

Yes agreed, makes sense to wait until the summer. Ultimately though if we actually want to challenge for European places we need to target players from the next level up.

Debatable how many of the current team are already there but I don't believe Sels is.

He’ll be 31 in April.

List of those above and below us and the age of their keepers

Liverpool: Allison 32
Chelsea: Sanchez 27
Arsenal: Raya 29
Forest: Sels 32
Villa: Martinez 32 (best keeper in the world btw)
City: Ederson 31
Newcastle: Pope 32
B’mouth: Arrizabalaga 30

Are we again a victim of our own success and now Miguel who we all saw as a promising prospect maybe a touch beneath where we want to be in the summer?

The table doesn't say that ^^

Bournemouth could go 5th today, how many of their team are that level?

We've obviously deserved our position but it doesn't mean we'll be able to sustain it.

Obviously be fantastic if we did!

Don't give a shit about Bournemouth.

We are where we deserve to be and Matz Sels has been a huge part of that.

Don't give a S**t about Bournemouth.

Statistically he's been below average for the PL, that's also a fact.

I still would hope we can improve in the summer. I think we'll need to be a bit ruthless in the summer like with the likes of Cook and McKenna when we went up from the championship.

Yes I hear you Wassy and I like a bit of ruthlessness too.

I just wanted to give Sels a pat on the back for his recent displays.
