Better last night against Finland but still far from convincing.

Carsley's interviews are like his team selections, baffling.

Not saying whether Carsley is good or bad but why are his team selections baffling?

The only slightly off one was vs Greece when it was what a lot of people were asking for and before kick off most people were saying it looked good. OK it didn’t work and he probably took too long to change the system but other than that no problem.

Don’t think overall performance has been any better or worse than under Southgate.

Versus Greece was shocking.

Who was asking to play with no striker and no partner for Rice?

You are right it didn't work and it was obvious after 20 minutes that would be the case but he did nothing.

As I said it was better last night with a striker on the pitch and Gomes partnering Rice.

Some weird situation going on with the Nigerian team being stranded in Libya before their AFCON qualifier. Not ideal for Aina and Awoniyi obviously.

The lack of left back is annoying, no striker despite Watkins being on great form, Foden playing despite not being great recently, only one CM. I'm not sure many wanted that?

I think most people would want something like:

GK
Trent, Guehi, Stones, LB
Rice, DM, Bellingham
Palmer, Kane/Watkins, Saka

Just a system that they can stick to and pick players that fit that rather than jamming them all in like vs Greece.

Pickford

Walker Stones Guehi Colwill (will do)
Rice Bellingham
Saka Palmer Grealish or Gordon
Kane or Watkins

will do me.

All opinions isnt it.
As Southgate proved for England, you cant please everyone and even if the England manager is winning they get criticism for not winning the right way.
The chances of everyone on this forum let alone in the country agreeing with his team selections is zero. He cant win.

Why can’t we just play an 8 as an 8

And whoever is performing the best for club at number 10, for Madrid Bellingham has been playing LM/LW anyway recently so why not start him there against Greece and not as a false number 9

Sky Sports have picked up on the Tuchel story now - looking like the most likely candidate.

Tuchel it is.

Interesting appointment as he's a very divisive character but he's won plenty as a club manager.
