Having a look at Leicester fans opinions. Safe to say it is lukewarm at best,  some saying if Cooper keeps them up they will just about accept him, a sizeable portion don’t want him anywhere near. Don’t think he would get much slack if they get a bad start.
Should he take the job I will be interested to hear what he says about Leicester. Surely he can’t come out with the same “special place, bleeds football soul” stuff. I did think at the time when he was here he was backing himself into a corner when he inevitably moved to a new club one day.

A lot of our fan base was as equally sceptical about him when he was being lined up for us.

Different situation though, our expectations were on the floor. Cooper hadn’t achieved much and we were on our hundredth manager and hurtling headfirst to League 1. Most of us thought nobody could make much difference and a decent outcome would have been finishing 21st let alone being promoted.

He'd only been able to demonstrate a moderate amount of sucess before he came, that being getting Swansea to the play off final. Lots were sceptical. I agree though, a lot of that scepticism might have been down to our lack of confidence in anything Forest.

I really hope not Sniff............apart from when we play the bin dippers, but I would hope he gets a warm reception from our fans, irrespective, which I think he will get.

Any antagonism towards him is more than likely down to the keyboard warriors and trolls, not genuine Reds supporters IMO

Leicester was a crazy job for him. He's never going to succeed there.

I think they've done ok so far. After they play Arsenal on Saturday they play Bournemouth, Southampton, Forest and Ipswich. That's the run that'll make or break them.

Look Im not saying Steve was the worlds best manager and he clearly made some mistakes at Forest. But he doesn’t deserve the abuse he is getting now and they really aren’t off to a terrible start by any means.
56% want him gone now just 5 games into the season. Another 26% want him gone in October break. This isn’t one or two people either, nearly 600 voted.
Their Cooper Out thread started on the 10th of AUGUST. I mean for fxxxks sake give the bloke a bit of a chance.

A lot are pointing out his tactical naivety which I reckon is fair, it didn’t help he followed Maresca. A few others mentioned something I thought was a problem for a long time here, his back room staff aren’t up to the job either, Tate (in particular) Rands and Alcock, none are good enough or have high level experience.
However think some just don’t want him there and weren’t prepared to give him a chance no matter what a bit like us with McLeish.

Who really is there out there to take the job if they do sack him? Didn’t we argue about potter turning them down? Moyes wouldn’t. They’ll end of with allardyce if they’re not careful unless they prise someone’s assistant away again

That's it in a nutshell. He's ex Forest so they're never going to fully embrace him.

It was the wrong job for him, a promoted club who've sold players and are struggling under ffp. No manager can be successful unless they have fans backing. He should've dropped down again and taken a big championship club job. He knows how to do well in that league.
