I think the 'where is the improvement ' comments are wide of the mark. We're a far better team to watch, just not getting results we deserve

I dont want to make this a Nuno vs head previous coach debate, just making a point.
Last season we took 7 points at home from Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal This season we took 0. However in getting 0 we have looked a decent side in all 3 games and they have all been relatively close whereas last season we barely got a kick despite picking up 7 points. Personally I would prefer to stay up winning ugly than go down looking a bit better. The question then is has Nuno been too naive in changing our approach?

In time Nuno’s style might be effective. Players like playing with more freedom and setting up that way-can be sustained for longer but takes time to bed it down. I am also not sure we have the depth of quality in the squad to play that way every week in the premier league, either. Maybe we have tried to evolve a bit too quickly. It was good to watch today but we have lost again. It’s only results which matter in the run in.

He's been delt a hard hand with everything that's gone on, and even a harder hand by fans who didn't want and don't want him here

We are better under Nuno, we actually look like a football team who can move forward and string passages of play together.
Last years blueprint wasn’t sustainable at all, and we had completely lost our way before Nuno came in. Secure safety, get a reliable centre back partnership through recruitment and I’m sure Nuno will move us up the league

Last years model wasn’t sustainable. It didn’t work start of this season. But there’s no point in stringing a few passes together if we end up in the Championship. Kind of feel that passing practice in training has been at the expense of defensive solidity. We haven’t got our priorities right IMO.

IF we stay up - Nuno will get us top 10. We have some very good players…

One clean sheet in 24 games. 23 goals from set pieces That is the difference and why there is a high chance we get relegated with everyone scratching their heads going “But we play so much better football under Nuno”.

Nuno added an extra attacker on the field, which meant better attacking but also more open at the back. Hence the results haven't really improved. If they'd figured out how to defend set pieces better surely we'd have stayed up easily. Question is, is that due to bad defenders or bad organisation from the management?

Yes true But the big deficit for me is a forward line that can finish (or stay fit). A thug of a CB can’t be that difficult to recruit; proper goal scorers might be a tad more difficult to source.

What is really pussing me off is set pieces and corners. We are not a small team. Yet the set up has stayed the same for most of the season. 3 zonal being the best headers and then men markers. We’ve been less than crap at it.

When you start to look at points lost it really hits home…
