That'd be brilliant both for him and them. Could see him being successful there too.

Yes it feels like a good fit Pap.

If he does go there it wont be until the summer, looks like they have appointed another coach to work alongside their temp manager which is a bit odd as they still have outside chance of playoffs.
Do agree Sunderland would be perfect club for Cooper although you question why they are on their 3rd manager this season.

STEVE COOPER has indicated he WOULD accept the Leicester job - if offered the role.
The Welshman has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest last season.

Looks like Steve Cooper is the favourite for the Leicester job.

Good luck to him if he gets it. Irrespective of it being Leicester, it would be a good job for him, provided he gets some funds. He still lives around these parts, and they are a PL side. For Coops, its a no brainer really.

I have to disagree Tricks mi owd.

I think it would be a bad move for him.

I agree as he's got a weaker squad than they went down with and they are very likely to need "snookers" from the off.

Having a look at Leicester fans opinions. Safe to say it is lukewarm at best, some saying if Cooper keeps them up they will just about accept him, a sizeable portion don’t want him anywhere near. Don’t think he would get much slack if they get a bad start.
Should he take the job I will be interested to hear what he says about Leicester. Surely he can’t come out with the same “special place, bleeds football soul” stuff. I did think at the time when he was here he was backing himself into a corner when he inevitably moved to a new club one day.

A lot of our fan base was as equally sceptical about him when he was being lined up for us.

Different situation though, our expectations were on the floor. Cooper hadn’t achieved much and we were on our hundredth manager and hurtling headfirst to League 1. Most of us thought nobody could make much difference and a decent outcome would have been finishing 21st let alone being promoted.
