First 30 mins he played off the right, and that’s not his most effective position.
Played well second half, and the introduction of Tavares helped him, as Toff wasn’t getting beyond him in the first half.
I thought Toff showed his limitations today, in terms of the lack of athleticism to really impact the game going forward.
Seems a little harsh to blame poor performance of CHO on Toffolo lol
it is.
Nevertheless, Blackpool were able to double up on CHO before Tavares came on and his runs allowed them to split their defenders and move them about to create more angles and opportunities.
Love Toff but as someone who has been bemoaning the club’s lack of pace for years, I’m excited by Nuno as he clearly seems to recognise it’s importance in the team and the way he does it with the current squad is by using fullbacks who press on (and often refreshes those options in the second half to keep the momentum).
I still think we need more options with pace generally, but for the short term and after AFCON I can see Toff not getting as much game time behind Aina and Williams.

I was also impressed with Nuno yesterday although it was only one half of football so I won't get too carried away.
However he is another who has been written off as a poor recruit far too early.

Outside of the current bottom 3, Toff doesn’t get in any other team in the Prem.
High level Champ player, but doesn’t have the athletic ability to be a long term Prem player for us, if our aspiration is to improve.
Murillo, Niakhate, Aina, Danilo, Sangare, Domingues, MGW, Taiwo, Mangala, Montiel, Elanga, CHO all have the potential to be part of a squad looking at mid table

His defending is suspect though.
Each time has was in that left back area dealing with attackers i got a squeaky bum.

This was confusing me until I realised you meant Tavares!
Too many Nunos...

Yeah sure Toff is a backup level player and that's fine, slightly better as a wingback. Was more that you were letting Toff take the blame for CHO performance, particularly given the opposition.

Tavares is woeful at defending against higher level players and seems to struggle. We need better quality LB but can probably wait until summer .GK , RW , RCB and CF in that order .

We are not Manchester City.
Tavares is more than good enough for us. We are currently a lower PL team.

Richards is doing well and it's looking like a good decision to have sent him on loan to Olympiakos. They have looked after him really well and now he has started playing games.

Good to hear Omar is doing well, let's hope he can stay fit and come back in good health for a proper pre season with us. Would love him to do well.
