The critics of turner is valid but booing is counterproductive. I moaned - he just can’t kick a football. He didn’t start playing until he was 15 - he missed the formative years where technique is learned. He will always struggle with the ball at his feet. He can’t control a ball under pressure and he hasn’t got any range of passing - quite fundamental. However, he has balls and deserves credit for his performance after the mistake- the two saves were world class.
Re watched today-
Niakhate was outstanding - several Bobby Moore stops and an amazing run.
Murillo - more disciplined from him yesterday - a delightful ball for aina
Ola- so good going forward and is back to his early form
Montiel- such an intelligent footballer who I think may well be able to give us the inverted under lap option.
Yates- my MOTM. More progressive than usual and wins the ball so well- horrible to play against and epitomised what Man Utd need in their midfield that they have paid nigh on 200m to try and get!
Danillo- showing he is a number 6 - my criticism of cooper was he didn’t know how to deploy a 6 - hence going through about 6 of them.
Dominguez- a brilliant game and gave balance on the left that reminded me of clough it’s 90s team with rice and palrker role on the left- popped up centrally a few times - a deliberate ploy
MGW- what endeavour and deserved his MOTM even though I think Yates shaded it. He even on one leg nearly set up CHO for a run on goal! Great goal too.
Wood- brilliant again for me. Won lots of headers and took both centre halves out the game for both goals. Played number 10 when MGW leg gave up and ran his bollocks off cutting off passes and ran 60 yards in the last few minutes to close down on our right hand side.
CHO- feel he will grow as he gets more fitness and confidence - a very good footballer
Mangala- excellent foul for the team
Boly - won every header
Williams- has improved immensely defensively - very scrappy in a good way too
Turner- thank goodness he got his head up. Montiel after our second rightly from the sideline didn’t celebrate with the others but called straight over to Turner to say the second goal was on him and get his head up. Brilliant by montiel.
Nuno- was discussing selection prior to game and said that Man U are susceptible centrally - the use of Dominguez to become a second number 10 off the left was a master stroke. It’s also his insistence on team and players getting credit rather than himself. Speaks so well and obviously a proper top flight manager with tons of experience that will hopefully lift us up the league. Could we be this seasons Villa?
Far be it from me to criticise Nuno after yesterdays masterclass but did anyone else question the 3 subs on 87 mins? For a start there was Luton, lets not go there.
But we had Wood out there who was reduced to walking pace late on and MGW on a yellow card and running on one leg. Thought they were the more obvious changes?
It works and everyone says well played, had we conceded at the end think it would have gathered more attention.
On an unrelated note I think a wise decision to axe Just Cant get Enough after a win. That was the previous era and we have entered a new one. Loads of other teams play JCGE too, it was hardly unique.
Rocking all over the World a good choice and who knew Rick Parfitt Jr is a Forest fan and in the Trent End last night!

I agree, it was an excellent decision, new era new music at full time.
Just a note on Mangala, he was very lucky not to give a penalty away for the way he man handled McTominey at every set piece. Weirdly the referee saw it and spoke to him beforehand on one occasion but never saw fit to penalise him.
Had it been the other way round I would have given the ref pelters.

This was my favourite moment of the game, the start of the Dominguez goal. When I saw him put his foot on the ball the way he did, I absolutely loved it. Played like he was in charge. I shouted out to my Dad, "Yates has put his foot on the ball!" and laughed, he's come such a long way, through all the divisions. So many times people never believed what he is capable of, each time he proves them wrong. I still remember the first time he played in a preseason friendly in Spain, My first impression was that he was quite a unit. Now he's putting his foot on the ball against Utd and threading through the passes to set up the goals, wearing the Captains armband.
I agree with McDurban, the start of the action that leads to the Dominguez goal is a masterpiece, one of the best moments of the match, for me the ball possession has also improved a lot, I saw the midfielders think more with the ball, and then a the goal was a great emotion.

Thirteen passes in the build-up to that goal with Man U not getting anywhere near the ball. Possibly the key one was the one Yates drove to Elanga before he cut inside to find Montiel. Really good goal - reminded me of the Wood one vs. Man City last season.
Honestly 2nd half watching him drop in and split the CB was a joy to see , split the CB allowed fullbacks to push forward and Murillo get on the ball more . Yates was Brilliant also when he came on at Newcastle did exactly what hes good at completely nullified them bringing Joelinton on . Every Manager has improved his game a little bit he gets better and better . End of last season he was good didn’t understand the Hype around getting Sangare as I thought that money could of been spent better elsewhere, we had allready signed santos and dominguez along with Mangala and Danilo as a 6 in his beat position .
But on the plus side we now have Yates and Sangare so we can make positive changes during a game .

I noticed that too, he dropped in behind the CB's on a few occasions to receive the ball deep.
I thunk after 2 days of drinking I'm about back to normal!! What a win! Yates my motm, special mention to Niakhate and Montiel. To be honest, all of them were 7/10 or more. Not sure if anyone has seen the clip of MGW telling the lads that Man U players didn't want to be here, and it was all over their faces! The camera then panned to Erikson, who looked terrified! I love him! Happy New year to all!! Back to back wins against Newcastle and Manchester United!!! You reds!!!
