Mind you - we’ve paid enough for the young Irish lad with the name I can’t spell!

Hudson Odoi

Annoys the bejesus out of me at times. His quality is good and on another level to todays opponents but how often did he use it? Did some lovely crosses and passes and was ripping them apart second half. But first half simply strolled around waiting for the ball to come to him, never made a run or looked to find space. Always looks reluctant to take a player on preferring to check back inside. Overall you could say he made a good contribution but just think he could do far more.

I say watching thinking the exact same thing today SM. I'm not fully sure he trusts his body enough to put the burners on and really open up to play at full tilt.

It wasnt just him playing backwards. Yates and Danillo were doing it too although they may have had to do so with the lack of movement ahead of them.

Surely it Hudson Odoi who is meant to be moving ahead of the midfield?

Give CHO the ball in a 1v 1 situation and he is elite.
First 30 mins he played off the right, and that’s not his most effective position.
Played well second half, and the introduction of Tavares helped him, as Toff wasn’t getting beyond him in the first half.

I thought Toff showed his limitations today, in terms of the lack of athleticism to really impact the game going forward.

Seems a little harsh to blame poor performance of CHO on Toffolo lol
