Cooper only signed his new contract once he left. It was either Cooper or him! He wanted Cooper sacked.
The bloke was useless and was put on preparing the City Ground for the PL duty.
His input into signings were Richie Laryea and Braian Ojeda who were a complete waste of space.
Absolutely useless which is why no other football club has touched him since he got bombed out.

Cooper gets the credit of course.
But what about whoever made the decision to bring in Middleboro’s 3rd choice right back, wasn’t that a little inspired?
Or the decision to invest again in a team that had performed abjectly the previous year.
Or most importantly of all, EM for rejecting an offer for Brennan Johnson that was roughly a third of the value of the entire club?
True re: Brennan - that’s was brilliant from our owner. What a guy.

I just don’t get the blame culture these days. Things happen good or bad, decisions are made that may prove right or wrong. No one is to blame, people do what they think is right at the time, if it doesn’t work out get over it and move on. It’s called life. EM may regret sacking SC and employing a new manager, he did what he thought was right. At the end of the day if it wasn’t the right decision it’s him who takes the hit financially, I’ll still be in the same seat I’ve had for over 30 years supporting the same red shirts.

They do though. A lot of fans blamed Nigel Doughty for overseeing our relegation and not getting us promoted to the premier league despite investing a large portion of his wealth into the club. The blame game can start very quickly and become difficult to control. Make no mistake, right or wrong, it will start if we get relegated

IF and thats a big IF who would get blamed for relegation?? Would it be EM or would it be Cooper or would it be Nuno. EM for backing his manager with money or Cooper for running out of ideas for a working tactic or Nuno because he's just the new guy so blame somebody. Personally I'd blame all of them because they all played a part in this season and then you'll get people on here who'll blame one or the other because of their own personal hatred for them.

Then you'll have to accept most of the players were Coopers choices with a few random players thrown in. All EM was doing was backing his manager and if he hadn't people would've moaned about that.

Doughty did not invest anything like a large proportion of his wealth into the club, and yes, he was to blame for our relegation.

I am out from this thread because I find it ridiculous.
What exactly are we looking to blame someone for.
Are we looking to blame someone because we are now a PL club?
Are we looking to blame someone because our owner has delivered on his promises.
Are we looking to blame someone because we now have a cat 1 academy.
Are we looking to blame someone because we want to turn the City Ground into a top stadium.
Are we looking to blame someone because the club on and off the pitch is in it's best state for about 30 years?
The whole blame thing is ludicrous and I am out.
You lot can fill your boots if you want.

No, the only thing it confirms is the total misrepresentation of what happened at that time.
Doughty spent very little of his fortune on the Club; if you would care to go back through the filed accounts for his period at the Club, it is all there in black an white, and it does not make comfortable reading.
Unfortunately, his decision making led to our relegation, that is, unless someone appointed the likes of Joe Kinnear and Megson without his knowledge, which I find difficult to believe.
I appreciate, its a very difficult part of our history to face up to, but facts are facts.
It was a crying shame his big buddy DT did not do a warts and all article on his stewardship, like he is so fond of doing with EM.
