There is a Spanish manager with a decent CV. Managed Malaga and Valencia in La Liga and also had an impressive season in the Premier League with a win percentage of 38% taking his club to the cup final.

Worth a look?

Or there’s an out of work Spanish manager who won La Liga twice with Valencia, as well as the UEFA cup, has won the FA cup, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Championship.

He was also linked with us this season…

My point is just because someone has a decent CV doesn’t mean they will fit with that club. We have ourselves hired plenty who looked a good fit at the time including ex England managers.

Finding that right fit is the tricky bit. When you do find it I reckon it makes sense to nurture that relationship because they dont come along too often. Be careful what you wish for.

It's not Rafa, never was and never will be.

Yeah, definitely. That was my point with Rafa too. On paper he’s a serial winner, but we’ve all seen his teams in reality.

Unfortunately I think the big man will have made his mind up, so I’m prepared for a new manager next season. It would be a sad end to the best manager I’ve seen in my time as a fan, but there’s no loyalty to managers any more.
