If we can get him firing at 100% for 25-30 mins which will how he’ll be used if we’re honest then hopefully he can contribute

No doubt that if he scores the winner against Brighton then he will be the best thing since sliced bread.

I barely played at Liverpool in the last few years, managed to play a bit last year. So Liverpool coaching staff judged him not good enough (or fit enough) to play. Ia that why they're bad judges?

Milan farmed him out after a year where he scored twice, which part is the bad judgement?

Come on the pair of you above, you are both going to the extremes of the argument in my opinion.

Origi most definitely is not a poor player because he has scored goals in Champions league semi finals, some absolute belters in there too.

However it is also true to say he has a lot of unfulfilled potential and has never performed consistently well anywhere he has played. His 3 goals for Belgium were all scored 9 years ago and he has only played for them 7 times in the last 5 years

Cooper either needs to find something in him that Klopp, Pioli and Martinez have failed to do or we accept that he is unlikely to be anything but a stopgap or option off the bench.

Pretty sure that was always the case.

Wassy who do you expect us to sign to play second fiddle to Taiwo?

Do you think there are loads and loads of options out there to come and fill that roll?

Get off Origi's back, he's done nothing wrong and hats off to him for coming to the club knowing that he won't be first choice.

Bang on Sniff. The lad needs some encouragement, not a bashing on here. Decent strikers aren't going to come to a club like ours to be 3rd choice.

You realise you're replying to SM here right? I think we could and should have been able to get more than Origi and CHO (two players with well known injury records) to cover in attack. We're lucky Elanga has stepped up. However, yes I do think we could've got a better option than Origi perhaps someone that covered multiple roles across the front line.

Whats all this backup to Awoniyi talk, at the current time the place is up for grabs given his injury record is giving Davis a run for his money. Anyone comes in, the number 9 spot is there to be fought for imo.

Origi signing seemed panic to me, would rather have kept Dennis or at least followed through on Iheanacho

Lets not get crazy with Dennis!

You're right though, the whole point of all these signings was to make the squad stronger. If the keepers, the defenders and the midfielders are ok with it, why couldn't we have more forwards. We have no depth out wide behind Elanga, CHO and MGW. We could easily have added another player in that position that could've also covered CF or allowed one of the others to move to CF.

Think you are being a tad unfair Wassy. You know me, definitely not shy of giving the recruitment at Forest the bashing it has so often deserved but you could see the method this time.

Pretty sure we had other forward targets toward the end of the window, guessing one didn’t come off and Origi probably was a plan B but we have made far worse panic buys down the years especially considering he is only on loan. As for wide options CHO, Elanga, MGW, Danilo and Williams can all play there.

I think it's obvious we are short of a forward option especially considering the injury record of all of our front 3. If there is anything that can be questioned its how we utilised our 2 PL loans spaces, both Tavares and Santos look to be a waste (could see the argument for Santos at the time).
Would have been far more useful to bring in a young forward on loan, not sure who but certain there must be a few around in U21 teams. Someone with a bit of raw pace to run at a defence late in the game. That it would have been a development player also gets around the ‘coming to play as 3rd choice” argument.
But hindsight is wonderful and for all we know we explored that option too.

BTW if it was up to me I would have kept Dennis.

Origi is the only option we have and I would be delighted if he came good. But he had 30 mins today and did c**k all again.
