Sangare seems to be immune from criticism so far?
He does some good things but in my opinion doesn’t look a £30m player. Not saying he is poor but just expected better even if early days. Seems to run out of steam late in games too? I could have scored the one he missed just before half time.
We effectively swapped him for Johnson. Money well spent?

I agree SM that we need more from Sangare, he looks slow and off the pace to me.
Don't agree that we effectively swapped him for Johnson because they don't play in the same area of the pitch.
We effectively swapped Johnson for COH and Elanga who I think have done okay so far.

We defend far further up the pitch with sangare. I think he's doing just fine.

That we hold onto the ball far more this season is very apparent and yes we defend higher up the pitch too. Some of that credit has to go to Sangare although my opinion Dominguez has changed how we play far more. Think both bring more out of Mangala too.
Self evident too that both went off yesterday and we all know what happened, we looked like a Championship team playing in the wrong league again. Agree with Sniffer though, Sangare does look slow and struggling a bit, just expected more from him.

I think we miss Danilo but who would make way for him to return?

The Awoniyi injury just once again amplifies how we've once again left ourselves short in attacking areas in the previous window. We knew full well he had an injury coming into the season, he already had tons of issues last year too. The idea we were relying on Wood and a panic signing of Origi was foolish, whilst also simultaneously trying to move away from wingbacks to having more attacking players on the pitch.
We've ended up playing 3 in attack and having Awoniyi, Wood, MGW, Elanga, CHO, Origi to choose from. Two of those can only play one position and were both carrying injuries, one of those has been injured for years, one of those has never played a full season workload or close to it and one of those is barely ever fit, leaving MGW as our only regularly avaialble attacker. At least when we had Brennan his fitness levels were impressive (admittedly he did immediately get injured at Spurs!). Either way we've left ourselves woefully short in attack and yet the manager is constantly getting attacked for not taking us into the top half with a half injured Chris Wood as his only attacking option.
Before anyone says it every team gets injuries, hence why we needed more depth, I'm sure our opponents on Saturday will prove this when they role out a few injury replacement backups that are a slight step up from Wood and Origi.
The point of this rant is this was wholly foreseeable and to be honest one of the more likely outcomes and now we have to get through the most important part of the season (most matches without a break) with only three attackers. Good luck Steve...

Why is Origi being written off so easily?
I remember it was exactly the same with Taiwo and Wood when they first played.
Origi has not even had a proper chance yet he's just had the odd 10 minutes here and there.
He's played for Liverpool and Milan and plays for the Belgium national team he must have something about him.

I never realised that Liverpool, Milan and the Belgium national team coaching staff were all such shit judges of players.
No doubt that if he scores the winner against Brighton then he will be the best thing since sliced bread.
