We are so much better than last year.

Cooper was furious though which he possibly should have done against Luton - first time he has ever questioned players after a game. Pressure? Bollockings - public ones -should only be used rarely.

For those that can’t see our progress though… we are light years better than last year. We do need some more attacking options off the bench and if we can get origi and CHO fit they may be the difference. West Ham have a settled squad and have bought exceptionally well. There is no shame in running them as close as we did. Their other losses have been with weakened teams…

Was always going to be a difficult game. Too similar a setup to how we play so we have to play further up the pitch than we really like to and then are exposed to the break. We're also rubbish at attacking and defending set pieces, which is clearly a massive strength of theirs. 

I really do think we need to change something about our set pieces, we have the height and physicality to cause lots of problems. Also.... the long throw thing hasn't worked for quite a while.... maybe change this up a bit too. 

I think we'll do Brighton after the break. Much more suited to playing against them! Well.....as long as awoniyi is fit and I murillo, who I think has become extremely important to the way we play, very quickly!

I’d like to see toffolo on some set pieces - or Marillo but that does take out someone attacking the ball. Hope his hammy is OK - he is young so hopefully not too long out…

Thought we did ok, apart from of course conceding from the set pieces and gifting them their first goal.

We went toe to toe with them which for me was a refreshing change. Id like to see us go for teams like we did today more often instead of Cooper's uaual block-ball.

As for the lat sentence how often have we played low block this season?
Luton last 15 minutes, OK we give you that, it was an unmitigated disaster. Liverpool away was understandable but done poorly. Villa at home we were pushed back but always looked to break.
But other than that I don’t think we are guilty?

High press/low block you can be dangerous with both! The reality is we give away too many set pieces and the ball in general.

I suppose you could say Salv that with the exception of the Palace game, this away game today was the one of the first 'average' away games this season. By average I mean not against a 'big' side. We teied to win at Palace amd we tried hard to win today. The rest of the games have been low blockers. Understandable I suppose if Im being generous. Lets hope we can go for a few wins in the away games from this point if the ties are going to be easier. Im encouraged by today.

On another note, I'm quite pleased to see a visibly pissed off Steve in the interviews and him not pedaling the standard look how far we've come tune. Can only be a good thing in my eyes.

I don't actually think we need many changes to personnel anymore. Maybe a bit more up front, but the rest of the squad has real quality and depth. Think all of them need to improve and step up their quality and consistency. Something that only comes with experience of playing in this league and working hard. Think they're all capable, hopefully they all want it badly enough!

I think the quality of their set piece deliveries compared to ours was the difference between the two teams and the reason why we lost the match.
