Unless you are a really successful manager like Klop, Pep, Sir Alex, Wenger, then your tenure at a club is always in question. Coopers time at Forest is no different to the also rans and he will, at some point be gone, as will the next and the one after that. The only question is when will it happen? Loose in poor fashion next week and I believe we will have a new manager after the international break. The fans love for Cooper is waning and was it boos I heard last week against Luton?
My money would be on Lopetegui.

Lopetegi is currently living in the midlands and waiting for a club. I think we have had our eye on him for some time…

Like most supporters I like SC nice guy, speaks well but it seem he is limited at PL level. His first call is not to concede as opposed to take the game to the opposition and get our noses in front. I really do not notice much improvement in our basic of pass and move and control of a game even though we have better players now then in the Championship, maybe the PL is a bridge to far?

I think Cooper is a very good premier league low block counter attacking manager. People wanted it different and we threw a winning formula out the window. Those people probably included upper management not just the fans. I remember a stage towards the end of the play off season where we struggled to break teams down in possession. zinckernagel would just slowly run with the ball and nothing came of it. The low block gave the fans intensity. Not only did we shelve a winning formula, we did exactly the same as last season and signed a shit load of new players again. Why rebuild in the second season. Stupid as anything I've ever seen.

Are you saying we rebuilt a team that Cooper didn’t want?

Really rate Potter, if Cooper were to leave he is one of the very few who I think is what we need and would improve us, I would be genuinely excited to get him. Lopetegui on the other hand in my opinion is a cxxx. Don’t want him anywhere near my club.

I think that owner and fan pressure has made us move away from a winning formula that ended and started our season very well. Some of the signings are Cooper's some aren't . What I'm saying is I don't think Cooper is a good possession based coach and we have missed the opportunity to capitalise on a poor bottom half standard by sticking with a winning formula.

Get what you are saying but disagree in that it is impossible to grow as a Premier League team by averaging 22% possession and pinching the odd 1-0. I had hoped that Cooper and the recruitment team were building a team in the style they wanted to play. Sangare was supposedly No1 target in achieving that. They got him and fair play to our owner but on todays performance I kind of wish we hadn’t. Unfortunately I think Johnson was one who really suited Coopers style and we haven’t replaced him, not that was easy to do.

Johnson doesnt /didnt need replacing like for like. Relying on a single player's pace as your out ball and for him to be your your primary goal scorer is not a good strategy. Yes you can have that in your squad but there needs to be other options too. Hudson Odoi is a good option in that regard and Taiwo has proved he can be good. We need more goals from MGW and the other midfielders.

I will give Cooper 2 more games..........and if he cannot get a win, then he has to go.
Will be interesting if a new manager is so reliant on favourite boy MGW.........who appears to not be scoring many goals or getting many assists.........and is probably at fault for far too many goals against giving the ball away, tripping over the ball, or giving away a free kick in our half. I think Cooper is too lenient and also too reliant on him........and its not working. Our movement off the ball is poor........thats a coaching issue. |
