Our South Americans
We said exactly the same about Danilo when he first arrived. Lets give them both a chance to settle in properly and play 20 games or so before we start making bold claims. Hopefully both will be here for years to come anyway.

As for the others, Dominguez is my new favourite player, he is the footballer I thought we had bought with Freuler last season. Good to see Montiel looking decent too.

Our midfield options of Dominguez, Mangala, Sangare, Danilo suddenly looks like the strength of the team! After being the weakness last year.

Some seriously good work has gone on! Plus they're all young enough that there is good room for improvement!

Next stage will be the front three. CHO and Elanga have potential. We know all about MGW and Awonyi. Wood and Origi I have serious doubts that they get the goals/performances we need to be effective in the final third.

Completely agree Ozzy, however I still think that GK could be our weak spot, saying that we have yet to see the Greek!

I am calling it from now which I know is extremely early however...

When/if we ever decide to sell Murillo he will break our record for a transfer fee received which is currently the fee we got for Johnson.

Bidding starts at One Hundred Billion Gazillion Dollars.

Top class naturally left sided centre backs are like rocking horse S**t and we have one in Murillo. He's only played a couple of games but you need to be blind not to see it.

Maybe Murillo will one day become one of the world’s best centre backs. But so far he has faced a relatively toothless Burnley and depleted Palace side. How about we see if he can cut it defensively when we face a proper test, Liverpool away on the 29th will be one.

If we can keep a clean sheet there I will start to believe he can be the real deal, just prefer to stay a bit grounded until I see some proper evidence.

Agreed SM however we are allowed to get a little excited aren't we? When was the last time a centre back did what Murillo did yesterday when we went on that run and almost scored and also some of those balls he was pinging around the field was a joy to watch.

Sorry for getting excited but I have been watching Danny Cullip, Matt Mills, Molla Wague, Michael Heffele and Damian Perques these last few years.

You left out Kevin Gomis.

Luke Chambers and Jack Hobbs would like a word too.

But yes you have a fair point Sniffer, we have waited a long time to see some quality, if you had suggested to me 2 years ago today what our squad would be like now I would have laughed at you.
