Forest Squad - Season 2023/24

At the minute Danilo and Morgan are getting the ball and only have Brennan ahead of them . They should have Tiawo and Elanga too and when they do we will see the best of them aswell . Thats Why i think Sanagre or similar signing is absolutely pivotal to what this team achieves this season.

Am I missing something surley he is better suited to the DLP role or will this require a better CDM than yates ?

Yes, I am. It's almost as if we've seen him scare a few goals at the end of last season and now think we must push him forward. Whereas......he is probably better suited to running from deep and popping up int he right place.
Exactly what i was thinking didn’t score many in Brazil and we didn’t sign him for that his goals came from arriving late due to his athleticism . His assists we’re just as important and good at the end of the season too . There were 2/3 cross field pings to Brennan that lead to goals as-well . Feel as though he is better utilised deeper especially if we have 2 out and out pace merchants on the wings now.

I thought this throughout preseason- I thought he was a 6?

Completely agree about Sangare, Reg. I also agree about Danilo & MGW. They need more options in front of them. The question is, how do we get those 2, Brennan, Taiwo & Elanga on the pitch at the same time? Will it have to be with 4 at the back so we go with something like 4-2-3-1? Interesting discussion. I also agree with others who have said that Danilo is better coming from a deeper position.

Redreg, anybody in a Forest shirt that can score goals is most welcome due to our overall lack in that department. Danilo showed last season that he is has a knack and looked good quality in taking his goal scoring chances. We should try and get him into more positions in front of goal. I also think he looks better and more natural then MGW in this respect

I think he has looked natural at scoring when arriving a bit later from deep when we break at speed. If you start higher up the pitch you need to find the space in a different way (from deep everything is in front of you but when you're already high, defenders are in front, behind and around you in general), which is a completely different skill in awareness.

It'll be *very* interesting to see what this looks like on the morning of September 2nd given the current rumours flying around!

Definitely will !!!
Picking and 11 will be difficult but will have a much stronger bench than last season .

Mangala (I)

That would make a 25 man squad (+ 4 U21s).

Loan: Shelvey, Biancone, Mighten,

If we sign another CB - then McKenna to be sold.

Danilo is primarily a central midfielder, I can't see Sangare joining.
