Some plonker was on TalkSport demanding Cooper be sacked! WTF?
How do you put up with people like that if they're sitting next to you at a game?

If you go back through the match threads you will find a few on this forum who seem to be firmly of that opinion. They were probably complaining back when we were winning European cups too.

Never once heard real criticism of Cooper at a game.

Nothing but love and support for Cooper around us. He's a little bit a victim of his own success with the non-match attending keyboard crew. The trajectory he took us on was ridiculous and unsustainable. After his first couple of games, people joked about top 6 of Championship as we scrambled our way out of bottom 3. Then not only top 6 achieved, but an offside decision at Bournemouth from potentially being top 2. Then Wembley  promotion, almost complete new squad, getting battered so adjustment to playing style (which some have-and still do- jump all over)  survival against all odds and then suddenly some are talking about having a go at Arsenal away from home - despite 2 key CBs injured- clamouring for a back 4. Moaning when we won despite our most creative player having a bit of a mare.

In the social media world there is a very noisy -full of sh1t? - minority.

The rest of us sit back and enjoy big games week in week out, knowing that The big man and Steve Cooper have made huge strides in under 2 years. Progress from here-on-in may be incremental, but so long as it involves staying out of bottom 3 for next year or two then I'll take that.

Last season we got smashed 5 at Arsenal. 1-2 this year.
Last season against promoted sides we took 1 point in 4 games. Already taken 3 from 1st game. 5 more to navigate.

Some of the football last night was free-flowing and some was not. The opposition usually play a part too and as much as I despise them, SU deserve credit for coming back at us after first 30 minutes of being battered.

I can't stand another season of the kn@b heads trying to be derogatory talking about "Steve Cooper FC" and "Cooper rimmers" everytime we go on a bad run. 

Maybe I need to stay off Social Media - especially the "supporters" groups on FB and most definitely  Tw@tter.

I had a letter printed in the programme in the eighties. I was angry because lots of people slagging off Clough and giving him no credit for keeping what is historically a second division club in the top ten for the best part of twenty years. Not sure where people get their sense of entitlement and level of expectation from.

This is what's making this season hard to enjoy, at least to begin with. The knowledge that we are.almost certainly going to lose our opening away games and be on 3 points after 4 games and invite completely unjust criticism. The worry is that the noise becomes more than chatter and there's seems to be a consensus that the relationship isn't perfect.

I'll start to enjoy it once we've got through the tough run and if Steve is still there. Who knows maybe we'll sneak a win in the next two and then we can relax.

I'd like to think that it would depend on the manner of the presumed away defeats - if they should happen. If we get hammered at the two Manchester clubs like we did last season and also against Chelsea then there might be some pressure. If we lose narrowly like we did against Arsenal... that shows progress to me. Man U were awful against Wolves. If they're as bad against us we might snatch a point.

Johnno is getting a bit of criticism for his performance yesterday but we don’t score that first goal without him, to win the ball, stretch their defence and then do the simple thing of passing to Aurier.

All very straightforward stuff but no one else in our team can do that barring possibly Elanga

If Forest took account of the experts on here ( I include myself in this) who said that certain players should never pull on a shirt again, we would have:
Let Yates go on a free to Millwall 4 years ago
Let Worrall leave for Rangers for £500k
Sold Johnson before even playing for the team, too lightweight (Everton bid £1m for him way back in 2017 ).
Sent Awoniyi on the first plane back to Germany, cant trap a bag of cement.

Guilty as charged re Awoniyi. Couldnt see the prime Drogba in him then. Can now.

Likewise I thought he was such a dud, just shows you need to give players time particularly when coming from abroad.

Interesting comparison considering people say the subs made a difference yesterday.
Subs bench for Sheff Utd vs Subs bench for West Ham 1st game last season.

I will leave you to decide which looks stronger, its not much of a decision tbh even including Hwang looks a far better option than Lyle Taylor.
