I actually think it's pretty crazy that we still don't have a shirt sponsor, it's just such poor economics at this point. We literally gave away money last year by not keeping BoxT. It's pretty embarrassing, surely at worst we agree a deal with someone with low exit costs if we get a bigger sponsor further down the line. It certainly doesn't scream well run club.

I got it to an extent last year and I liked have the Refugee charity, that was cool. However, what are they doing?! I'm not generally one for strong criticism but this really feels like a pretty poorly run aspect of the club.

Whether it's because of the lack of CEO last year or constant turnover of staff in those departments, hard to know. Ross Wilson is getting good reviews in terms of getting staff numbers to premier league level, so hopefully this can convert into a new sponsor. I know he's got a lot to do but it's not like there hasn't been time for these conversations.

Yep

Shelvey and Wood deals plus wages £30m +
Hwang and Bowler plus wages up to £10m
Not having a shirt sponsor last season £5m
Not having a shirt sponsor this season £5m
Total £50m

We want £50m for Brennan.

Bad decisions add up. This is the price.

Perhaps we don't want one and EM likes and prefers UNHCR.

If that were the case why not have them on the shirts already then?

Chelsea don't have one, Sheffield United don't have one, why are we in a rush to get one, it's about getting the best deal possible, the same people rushing for us to get a sponsor will be the same people moaning when it has a stupid logo what ruins the kit, and them saying we should of stayed sponsor less ha

Fair point Sniffer and if that is the case then admirable but probably not sit well with some given apparent FFP pressures, lack of key signings and price increases for season tickets, match day tickets etc. Seen quite a lot of unhappiness re increased ticket prices for instance when club wasted money on signings like Shelvey, Wood and turned down sponsorship last season and none so far this year. Don’t necessarily agree but can see their point.

Dunno but when we trot out of the tunnel at The Emirates we might well have it on our shirts.
