They have just sold Ellis Simms for 8m which is pure profit for FFP
So they would be 3.6m in profit.

They can go and spend another 20m with a 5yr deal should they wish.

Something I worry their scouting team may be aware of. They don't have a natural successor to Rice. Maguire (for all the bad hype last year) plus a good upcoming midfielder could improve West Ham and I do rate Rice highly.
