But if it's not working what do you do?

We cant spend over 3 seasons because of FFP, FFP has actually created this short term go for it and cut your cloth afterwards mentality.

I think the season is finished for us now . Too much talk about him leaving. A new manager won't get us promoted this season. Very disappointed about it all.

Key players haven't done enough during this tough period for karanka.

Most teams have worked within FFP when it comes to spending.

I wonder how much his poor spoken English has an effect on his motivational abilities. I struggle to understand the Chap when he is calm so the players at half time? I suppose that an enraged Billy Davies would take some following but I remember that many times he seemed to rouse them after a poor first half.

We can’t keep sacking managers or we will never progress. Klopp wasn’t pulling up any trees when he started. The key for me is to get a decent striker in January. Our barren spell has coincided with Grabbans lean spell. Has he become jaded? Is Murphy really the player to start a match, like ever ?

What the heck...

Aitor Karanka after 49 games W16 D18 L16 = 56pts £30m spent.
Dougie Freedman after 49 games W17 D16 L17 = 57pts £0 spent.

I’m going to get slaughtered but I didn’t want Dougie sacked either. I would’ve loved to have seen what he could’ve done with some money to spend, yes the football wasn’t great but under the constraints he was under how could it be. Another casualty of the Forest manager merry go round.

Apparently after 49 games or so Freedman had a better record than karanka

Not from me you won’t RedGirl - he did a fantastic job under the circumstances & deserved to be given a crack with a few quid in the transfer budget.

What I don’t get is why the club have leaked this at all. Was it to test the reaction of fans/media? Would they care about that?

Was it to try and get a reaction out of the team/management? That was just never going to go down well.

Was it unintentional and someone found out we were sounding out other managers? Maybe but in that case why haven’t the club come out and denied it, which makes me think it was them that leaked it in the first place. Right now the silence is only making things worse. I assume at this stage it’s just a case of getting a replacement lined up first.

For the record I’m against the sacking as most people agree it would be nice to get a full season out of someone. That said we’ve not really played well that often this season, we rarely dominate games and there are some strange team selections sometimes. However it always feels like we’re not far away from being a good team.
