Current Players Thread
I saw some figures the other day saying Southampton spent over £160 million this summer on young inexperienced players
At least we got a few good ones in
Come on you mighty Reds

Good to see this debate on here as I’ve never understood the recruitment axe swinging as it did.
No signing was perfect but all had attributes justifying their purchase.

If we stay up may see the likes of Dennis freuler obrien toffolo and several other fringe players leave in the summer but they will surely do so with our blessing.

Likewise, everyone shot down the January window but that brought us Danilo (star) Felipe (star) Navas (desperately needed) And Scarpa (free and instrumental in the integration of Danilo Lodi etc).
Ayew? 6 month freebie- not worth debating.

No, the only completely duff first team signings for me are Richards, Jlings and the two from Newcastle in January- and even then Wood and Richards might prove useful.

I think wood would have been a great back up to Taiwo instead of his interim replacement, he showed glimpses and would be nice to have him off the bench

Remember people saying the centre half was going to be the next big departure when he started well - Salisu? Bella-Ketchup has been rubbish. Aribo shows the gap between the EPL and Scottish league at present and their belief that a forward line of Walcott, Adams, Armstrong and a 20 Year old Mara was going to do anything is incredible.

Lodi signs right? Hendo signs? (Can’t wait to see footage of him at todays match) Serge to sign on again?

At least the Lingard experiment didn’t cost us survival, lessons will have been learnt from that

We have the perfect platform now to make one or two quality signings.

I think we sell Surridge, Colback is gone, cook will go, (Lyle and Cafu too) thank you for what you tried ayew but you’re out of here

I think much of the ‘in’ and the ‘out’ lists are fairly clear now with only maybe half a dozen or so ‘maybe’s’

Lodi and Hendo top of the list. Get it done next week Forest and lets build from there.

Lingard didn't even appear to be at the ground today.

He was. He was celebrating with MGW on the pitch after full time.

Think Dennis, Toffolo/Richards, Ayew, Lingard, Freuler and Shelvey will all move on.

There was no sign of Shelvey yesterday in the celebrations. Unless I missed him.
