Maybe it's a week too early but realistically we probably won't be safe going into the Palace game although it's likely to be in our hands.


Predicting the remaining games before that:

Leicester v Liverpool - Liverpool win
Wolves v Everton - draw
Forest v Arsenal - Arsenal win
West Ham v Leeds - draw
Newcastle v Leicester- Newcastle win

I actually think we might sneak a point but let's just be realistic about what is likely to happen.

The above would leave the table:
Forest 34
Everton 33
Leeds 32
Leicester 30

Final games:
Palace v Forest
Everton v Bournemouth
Leeds v Spurs
Leicester v West Ham

So in the above scenario Leicester wouldn't be able to catch us bit could still stay up if Leeds/Everton lost. A point or less would leave us vulnerable if both Leeds and Everton won. 

What I thought was most interesting though is if this played out you'd have a scenario where for Everton/Leeds they may get to a point where a draw keeps them up and perhaps play for that and Leicester result would be irrelevant to us.

What is clear though is that that weekend is going to be a horrible experience for all involved. I think sitting in silence in a darkened room, just rocking is the safest option. 

Or we could just beat Arsenal on Saturday and it might be all over!

Yeah and Leicester the Monday. They're certainly dragging it out.

Another possible scenario which is very plausible, if Leicester do lose tonight and Everton don't win at Wolves, a win against Arsenal would officially secure survival and no more suffering! I imagine the world will not be that kind to us though.

All we can do is give it our best and hope that West ham remain honest and give the league games proper consideration despite the chance of European silverware.

Looking at the table it’s likely to be a nail biter on the last day.
We’ve not had the gods on our side pretty much all season so I don’t expect that to change.
The Everton win at Brighton and our 8 minute horror show at Brentford really make a massive difference to the standings. Let’s hope that’s irrelevant come the final whistle at palace.

Calvert-Lewin went off with a tight groin apparently. Not clear yet if he'll be back for either of their remaining matches.

If not they could be in real trouble, even with the easier-looking matches they have left. They're pretty toothless without him.

aye said this on a different thread. Their season hangs on him being fit you feel. Wonder whetehr they'll hold him back for the home game vs Bournemouth

Leicester haven't kept a single clean sheet in the League since the World Cup - the only side in all four divisions not to have done so.

Let's hope they don't start now.

The final day likely standings still scare me.
Everton home to Bournemouth is a nailed on 3 points I reckon
Leeds home to an on the beach Tottenham is the unknown but again can see a Leeds win.

Assuming a realistic defeat to Arsenal we may well need a win at Palace.

For what its worth I dont see Leicester overtaking us.
