Felipe quickly turning into my favourite player over the last 10 years.

Its hard to think of anyone else who was genuinely of his quality.

Its why we simply have to get over the line this season if we can. Much as I like them I really dont want to have a centre back pairing of Worrall and McKenna in the Championship . There is no comparison and its fantastic to watch players of Felipe’s calibre in a Forest shirt.

Should the worst happen we might actually make a quick and easy profit on Felipe. Other PL teams will have seen how he has seamlessly transitioned to English football which we know is far from easy. Even at his age reckon we could get 5-10m, might be enough to stop the sale of someone else.

I agree with that. He's only 33 too. Thiago Silva is still performing consistently for Chelsea at five years older than that.

Why shouldn't we offer him a new contract if we do get relegated?

He may just like it enough here to want to stay and lead us back to the Prem next season. If that is the case, I would definitely make him captain.

Should the worst come to the worst and we do end up going down, we cannot offload ALL of our marquis players otherwise we wont be any better than the rest of the Championship. We need to hang on to the nucleus of our better players, where ever possible, otherwise, what was the point in bringing in so many players just to ship them all back out again?

I think a few players who we dont expect mught fancy giving us a season in the Championship. I think Cooper is a big factor in that. The players seems to enjoy working for the guy.

Difficult situation though with his young Brazilian wife and baby.

Lodi really enjoyed his football and loves NFFC but I can fully understand his situation.
