“The benefit is that you can go up and come back down with the money and restructure your club. Unfortunately for me, the coach generally gets sacked because everybody knows somebody who could do it better. Yet it can be done — you look at your Brentfords and Brightons.”

This is a quote from Tony Mowbray after Sunderland went 6th this week. Made me chuckle and yet depressing about how true it is.

I have really enjoyed this season, regardless of how it ends. If we stay up I would be over the moon, if we go down then I’ll look forward to next season.

We would start the Championship season with parachute payments (which don’t guarantee success, but really help).

I also think we’d have the bones of a decent squad based on players who would stay:

Horvath

Williams, Worrall, Niakhate, Richards, McKenna, Panzo

Yates, O’Brien, Shelvey (?), Colback

Bowler, MGW, Awoniyi, Wood, Dennis (?)

Obviously we may not keep all of those players, but I think it’s not too unrealistic. We’d also likely bring in some more quality.

Forget Richards. He will  never play for us

Can someone enlighten me as to the issues surrounding Richards ive no idea what's going on. Surely its more than just a hairline fracture as he would have been back yonks ago.

Sniff has eluded to things but for fear of legal action I assume, hasn’t said outright. Who knows when the truth will come out. I remember something being mentioned about court so maybe after that?

He's openly said he wants to leave and stay at Reading.

A couple more wins like tonight and I think the fist pump may return.

His celebration after the penalty went in was very emotional.

Cooper has his faults...........

Back room staff who are "his mates" and not necessarily "what we need".

Favouritism.....playing certain players regardless, even when their form says drop them.

Tactically inept at PL level.

Disliking certain players - the opposite of the Favouritism (I get the feeling Scarpa is the most recent addition)

Which is fair enough - we are all human. However, if he wants to progress, stay at Forest, become better and become a top manager he is the one who must address his own faults. I think recently since the big man read the riot act Cooper has indeed changed a little.......and performances have got better.

If Cooper can make more changes, improve himself, then I would be happy for him to remain (with some new back room faces in place).

Will be interesting times ahead...........I believe if we go down Cooper is going nowhere, but if we stay up then its still at this moment 50/50 as to whether he stays or "mutual consent" leaving will be announced and "going in different directions" will be rolled out, as it was at Swansea.
